No it was not a coup and telling the same lies over and over doesn't make them true. Trump called for a protest against the election results. He never called for the government to be overthrown. He never called for violence. He didn't even take over a single radio station and everyone knows that if you want to have a coup, you have to take over the radio stations. The government's authority and ability to enforce the law of the land was never imperiled. This was no coup but I can understand liberals wanting to cement that lie as "truth" like the Arabs did after the so-called Jenin massacre.
Depends how you define coup, and how you define putsch. No tanks or aircraft were used - unlike in Turkey, or the attempted putsch against gorbatchov / Yeltsin. No heads of state were held at gunpoint. But the invaders of the Capitol may well have done it.
In America, a coup is very difficult to pull off because of the democratic institutions - the Army, police are not for sale.
