100 year old active molester released from jail

Everything that pedophile Theodore Sypnier has to show for his 100 years on Earth is packed in a single duffel bag as he prepares to begin a new chapter in life: freedom.

It's a chapter that prosecutors, judges and others who know him never wanted — or expected — to see written.

New York's oldest registered sex offender is scheduled to move by week's end out of a Buffalo halfway house for released inmates and into a place of his own, after completing his latest term in state prison for molesting little girls.

The judge who sentenced him said at the time that she expected him to die behind bars.[...]

  1. A zebra does not change his stripes and a sexual molester does not get 'cured".

    * 1 in 4 girls is sexually abused before the age of 18.

    * 1 in 6 boys is sexually abused before the age of 18.

    * 1 in 5 children are solicited sexually while on the internet.

    * Nearly 70% of all reported sexual assaults (including assaults on adults) occur to children ages 17 and under.

    * An estimated 39 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse exist in America today.

Even within the walls of their own homes, children are at risk for sexual abuse

    * 30-40% of victims are abused by a family member.

    * Another 50% are abused by someone outside of the family whom they know and trust.

    * Approximately 40% are abused by older or larger children whom they know.

    * Therefore, only 10% are abused by strangers.

Sexual abuse can occur at all ages, probably younger than you think

    * The median age for reported abuse is 9 years old.

    * More than 20% of children are sexually abused before the age of 8.

    * Nearly 50% of all victims of forcible sodomy, sexual assault with an object, and forcible fondling are children under 12.

Most children don't tell even if they have been asked

    * Evidence that a child has been sexually abused is not always obvious, and many children do not report that they have been abused.

    * Over 30% of victims never disclose the experience to ANYONE.

    * Young victims may not recognize their victimization as sexual abuse.

    * Almost 80% initially deny abuse or are tentative in disclosing. Of those who do disclose, approximately 75% disclose accidentally.

Additionally, of those who do disclose, more than 20% eventually recant even though the abuse occurred.

    * Fabricated sexual abuse reports constitute only 1% to 4% of all reported cases. Of these reports, 75% are falsely reported by adults and 25% are reported by children. Children only fabricate ½% of the time.

  2. If he were a "frum" jew who like Kolko and others simoltaneously claims he was falsely convicted but did thsuvah, what would be the correct way to treat him after his release. (Let us assume the judge knows what she is talking about when she says she had intended to sentence him long enough to have him die in jail).

  3. I liked the way that my father put this when my sister and I were growing up:

Every man alive is a sexual predator. That is why we have laws of yihud.

These laws apply to great Rabbis and simple men. A man is a man. And every man is a sexual predator. Don't ever forget it.

Okay, so now what happens when a man is not turned on by women, but instead is sexually excited by children?

The laws of yichud should also apply. For life.

Why? because a man who is sexually excited and fulfilled by children will not lose that tendency no matter how much he fears being caught.

Just as the laws of yichud protect women from men who are naturally sexual predators of women, so must we create "laws of yichud" to protect our children from those who have shown a desire and tendency to gain their sexual fulfillment from children.

The molester is a rodef and it is a matter of pekuach nefesh.

There is no concept of "teshuva" with regard to one's sexual desires. They do not go away.

Only a separation between the person and his temptations will protect him from himself.

I write this as a diabetic during the "Eight Days of Donuts". I will not be in yichud with them, ever because it is not reasonable for a diabetic to overcome the taiveh for sweets any more than it is reasonable for a man to overcome his taivah for women.

For molesters, the taivah for children is as strong as a normal man's desire for women. There is no such thing as "doing teshuva" for one's weaknesses and desires. We just have to put fences.
