ReplyDeleteSadly, this is a cruel joke on the woman.
ReplyDeleteThe Get was given to her, by her husband, under duress (threat of incarceration), and is therefore considered non-kosher. It has no legal value, and is not worth the paper it was written on. The woman remains in her original status of a married woman, an “Eishes Ish”.
If she remarries on the basis of such a fake Get, then any subsequent children she may have from another man, will be considered MAMZEIRIM.
