Levaya Information for Nissim Carmeli HY”D by Rabbi Yair Hoffman Hakaras HaTov is a central to our Avodas Hashem. Gedolei Yisroel, among them, Rav Chaim Kaniefsky and Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman have stated that we must all daven for the soldiers that are endangering themselves to protect Klal Yisroel.

Young Nissim Carmeli a”h, a young Texas native who moved to Israel, was among 13 Golani brigade soldiers killed in combat on Sunday morning in the Gaza Strip.

Nissim or Sean Carmeli a”h was a lone soldier whose parents live in the United States. His Levaya will be at 11 p.m. at the military cemetery in Haifa’s Neve David neighborhood. For those who are in Eretz Yisroel, we should express our Hakaras Hatov. by attending. May Hashem bring yeshuos to Klal Yisroel.

  1. Those rabbonim said we should daven for the soldiers, but did not say we should daven for their umbrella organization, tzahal. The hakarat hatov is only partial.
