Trump ally complaints aside, crime is down in Manhattan
In a statement, Trump’s campaign claimed that “[r]ather than stopping the unprecedented crime wave taking over New York City, [Bragg] is doing Joe Biden’s dirty work.” Again: Crime in New York is not “unprecedented” and is, in fact, on the decline.
??? Trump says that Crime is down because Bragg won't prosecute small crimes. That will also explain the alleged reduction in crime.
ReplyDeleteOr am I wrong?
DeleteCrime stats rely on arrests and charges being laid. If the police refuse to arrest or lay charges, then crime rates will go down. The number of people being robbed and beaten will go up, sure, but they won't be crimes.
DeleteSo where is your evidence that crime is going down because the police are not arresting or the DA is not prosecuting.
DeleteAll you have is the Republican charges or Fox News?
Since when do we rely on conspiracy theories and partisan campaign slogans as proof?!
Certainly, the DA has provided no reason why crime should be down? By all accounts, the inflation and bail-free policies would predictably result in higher crime. A fall in crime rate can only be attributed to a change in the goal-posts. Or am I missing something?
Deleteyes you are missing something
DeleteCrime rates go up and down. Your simple dismissal that the DA or police force are not relevant is not supported by any serious thought. It is equivalent to Trump's proof he won the election since he couldn't have lost to Biden
Where does it say he wont charge auto theft?
DeleteAmong the crimes Bragg said his office would not prosecute: marijuana misdemeanors, including selling more than three ounces; not paying public transportation fare; trespassing except a fourth degree stalking charge, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration in certain cases, and prostitution.
