Ad displays on the Kotel

Most people go to the Western Wall to pray, but now some will also head there to pay.

The cabinet is set to approve a plan that would allow for sponsorship messages to be beamed onto the Western Wall, sources in the Prime Minister's Office told Haaretz Saturday.[...]

  1. some people didn't look at the calendar

  2. What is the criteria to get into an Aish Hatorah event?

    February 28, 2010
(JTA) -- Glass falling from the atrium roof of the Sony Building in New York interrupted a Purim party.

Ice reportedly broke through the glass roof of the midtown Manhattan building after 11 p.m. Saturday, injuring at least 10 of the 300 guests, according to reports.

The party, reportedly given by Aish Hatorah, was attended by "Sex and the City" actor Chris Noth, as well as reality show "Jersey Shore" cast members Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Vinny Guadagnino.

"Omg roof just collapsed!" Polizzi Tweeted from the party.

"I think me and @sn00ki felt the wrath for not being Jewish," Guadagnino Tweeted.

    The actors were not injured.

  3. If true, talk about tactless!!

Rabbi Ribiat quietly was in the forefront of this problem and at great peril. He was harassed by Tropper’s supporters with implied threats of bodily harm. But he was not deterred. He is an honorable man and has done the right thing. He has also been modest about it shunning any publicity. I cannot oblige him. People like this need to be publicly thanked for their efforts.

  5. When I was at the kotel last december, the sight of the embroidered covers of the Bimot made me laugh: This cover was donated by xxxx in xxxxx...

I thought: well, now commercials have reached the holiest of holies...

So I am not really astonished that they want to exploit this thread...

  6. That was almost as good as the Taco Liberty Bell ad a number of years ago on April fools day :-)

  7. I hope you took the article as the Purim joke it was meant to be.
    And for another Purim post...
