Is vaping dangerous?
Vaping is nowhere near as harmful as smoking cigarettes.
But health experts agree that anyone who doesn't smoke should not start vaping.
Children's doctors say vaping may cause long-term damage to young people's lungs, hearts and brains.
The vapour inhaled contains a small amount of chemicals, including the addictive substance nicotine.
More research is needed to fully understand the health effects.
Another issue is that illegal vapes are widely available and are much more likely to contain harmful chemicals or drugs, such as cannabis.
Never start vaping, says girl with lung damage
At this point there are two types of vaping
ReplyDelete1) nicotine - it's not as harmful as actual cigarette smoking but not safe either, just less harmful. However, studies show that if used as a bridge to quit smoking but constantly lowering the amount of nicotine in the cartridges, it can be very helpful.
2) marijuana - people forget that just before Kung Flu hit the world, the big public health crisis in the US was "popcorn lung". The solvents used to put cannabis into vaping solution are toxic to the lung and can cause massive fibrosis. Marijuana can never be vaped.
