Liz Cheney didn’t survive the Republican primary judgment of 170,000 Wyomingites, who more than two to one backed an election-results-denying lawyer over the GOP elected official who has led the charge to expose and condemn Donald Trump’s attempts to steal the presidency from Joe Biden. But in doing this necessary work, Cheney has earned the thanks of 330 million Americans, including the 28% of adults who identify as Republicans. The only way forward for the party and the nation is biting the wound and extracting the poison of the snake.

It is election night November 2024. Donald Trump has been reelected President of the United States.
Right away, the attacks from the Democrats will ramp up. They will flip-flop on the 2020 election results pointing out that the Constitution limits a President to two terms and since Donald Trump really >did win in 2020 then he is ineligibe to serve a third term.
The media will pick up on the chant with headlines like, "Three Strikes and You're Out." Lawsuits will be brought.
Opinion pieces like the one here will be recycled with the blanks filled in along these lines:

Trump aggressively incited people to vote for him. Furthermore, by doing so, he prevented them from voting for the candidate we wanted to win. Thus, Trump took suppressed the rights of millions of voters who were tricked into mis-voting. Furthermore, what about the millions who voted for the correct candidate? How do you think they feel? They are the true victims tonight.
Trump must be investigated by the FBI for unleashing an angry armed mob upon polling places all over America which pulled the wrong levers, punched ballots in the wrong places and basically acted un-American.
And Trump sat in Mar-a-Lago on a couch whose pillows are stuffed with secret documents stolen from the U.S. government relishing the mayhem. But the cynical attempts of this demagogue plotting to undo the will of the people shall not stand. He cannot be allowed to surf the wave of corrosive, antidemocratic lies.

Chomsky has for 30 years been saying that Zbigniew Breszinski boasted about "drawing Russia into Afghanistan", and now he is saying the same thing about how America drew him into Ukraine. Since Chomsky is Zakein HaDor of the left and Dems, it is kind of strange that Biden is backing the war.
