Israel-Lebanon ceasefire: A fragile peace with future war risks - analysis

The part of this war between Israel and Hezbollah has just about come to an end, with Israel managing to alter its narrative since mid-September – from a tie to close to a knockout.

And yet, the terms of the ceasefire and the status of Hezbollah maintaining many of the sources of its power make it clear that another Lebanon war may be closer than many would like to hope.

  1. Iran controls Hezbollah. It couldn't care less about Lebanon and is willing to fight to the last Lebanese to harm Israel. Until there's a bunch of smoking craters in the middle of Tehran, this war isn't over.

  2. Part of this ceasefire is Theatre. It is to give Biden a farewell gift, maybe not ont he WhiteHouse lawn but good enough.
It is also for Israel to re-arm, and refresh its population and troops.
The routes into Lebanon, from Syria need to be smashed, but ultimately the Islamic regime in iran needs to be smashed.
