Democrats are experiencing a devilish glee as MAGA World clashes over the Trump administration’s push to defuse conspiracy theories surrounding the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
In cable news interviews, social media posts and formal calls to release more Epstein files, Democrats are highlighting the administration’s handling of the case in hopes of exacerbating the unusual tensions between President Trump and a conservative base that’s stood firmly behind the president on virtually every issue he tackles.
I would pick another term than "gloat". The Democrats in the U.S., by and large, are in the weaker position because many powerful offices, such as of the President, are held by Republicans. And there doesn't seem much the Democrats can do to woo back voters who in the past may have leaned towards voting for Blue candidates but in recent elections have swung more towards the Red.
ReplyDeleteSo, the Democrats are pleased at the Republican in-fighting. The Democrats like that the Republicans are eating their own, thus accomplishing for the Democrats what the Democrats have not been able to do on their own.
Maybe we can say that some Democrats are gleeful.
