Monsey man charged with sexually abusing a boy, 14

A 58-year-old Monsey man has been charged with sexually molesting a 14-year-old boy, Ramapo police said today. Police accused Moishe Turner of 5 Dana Road of having anal and oral sex on seven occasions throughout Ramapo and Spring Valley. The investigation led to Turner's arrest last week on seven felony counts of second-degree criminal sex act and one misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.

  1. Reb Doniel,

What is the proper approach to take to such accusations? Should we assume that they are likely true or likely false or wait for further information?

  2. Moisha Turner was a Rabbinic Field Representative for the OU and might still be. He also heads a hashgocho in his name that is a front for and owned by Monsey's Rabbi Spivak. Spivak turns to the Satmar chossid Turner when clients are concerned about Spivak's bad reputation for certifying non-Jewish owned establishments that are cooking on Shabbos. Rabbi Nochum Rosenberg has been warning that Turner preys on young boys at Monsey's mikvas.

  3. Universal rule - make sure children are portected. If a guy is suspected or accused - he can not be left alone with kids.

There is a difference between protecting kids and declaring a man guilty. Protecting kids is governed by commonsense sense. Declaring guilt is a judicial procedure involving evidence and punishment.

The IRS is in the midst of a criminal investigation of old Torah Vodaas talmid Shraga Feivel Gruberger who renamed himself Philip Berg to run his Kabbala Center scam.

The LA Times reports on the circumstances of Berg's debilitating stroke, revealing details no one was aware of. Berg and his wife were such big gamblers at Las Vegas casinos (which the IRS is very interested in), that they were given free rooms, limousine rides and MEALS. Is there ANY Vegas casino that offers KOSHER meals? The faker mesachek bakuvya had his chassidim read Zohar 24/7 outside his hospital room after his stroke.

The LA Times confirms rumors that Berg's 2nd wife (who he chased while still married to the niece of the mekubal Rav Brandwein) was not frum when they got married. She is now 68 years old and still does not dress according to halacha. People have also seen her at the hotel swimming pool on Shabbos. When they questioned her she claimed it has a din mikva.,0,2707071.htmlstory

This other article says Berg is accused of stealing the kesovim on kabbala from R' Isaac Levi Krakovsky that he plagiarized as his own. Rav Krakovsky was a talmid of Rav Ashlag who followed his rebbe from the heim to Eretz Yisroel in 1922. He later moved to Brooklyn where he was niftar in 1966 after getting to know Berg.
