And they did. But to his dismay, some of his students posted surveys like “Who’s the most popular classmate?” and “Who’s the best-liked?”

Teaching children about the internet is a lot like teaching kids about TV or any other cultural/technological reality.
ReplyDeleteWe can address these issue head on or we can pretend we can cloister ourselves and pretend we can cut ourselves off.
We either have faith that the values taught in the community are appropriate and will take hold or we don't.
The jury on that is still out.
Therein lie the real issues.

ReplyDeleteWhat kind of standards do the orthodox rabbis in Rome, Italy follow that they converted this fellow?
The children posts slurs about each other's mothers, and what concerns the parents? That the kid may be hurting his college prospects or future employment. The reason to cultivate good character in modern society: so that civil society rewards you.
