Sefer Chasidim (#204) He who involved in oaths of angels or demons or magical incqantations will not come to a good end. One should also avoid making requests in dreams. He will see harm in his body or children his whole lfe therefore a person should always avoid these things as well as asking questions in dreams and other supernatural practices since the Torah says Tamimim tehiye. They lead to harm including apostasy and sickness to himself or his children.Nor should he have others do thses things for him. Instead he should pray to G-d.
So how does this jive with all the Chasidic Rebbes from the BST down and their "miracles" and magic tricks?

DeleteThis afternoon between kiddush and lunch I dreamed about a car parked in my bedroom, too close to mine, but I lifted it up to move it further away, and then an entire extended family showed up to reclaim it, how they got it out of my door or down the stairs I didn't see so it's probably just as well that I hadn't asked any questions as I'd be wondering what that answer meant.
