Detox’ routines won’t undo Covid vaccine, experts tell anti-vaxxers

 https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/nov/14/covid-vaccine-mandate-detox-borax-bath

Unproven and sometimes dangerous vaccine “detox” remedies, including restrictive diets and supplements, have been popular in anti-vaccination circles for years. Social media, coupled with politicized resistance to Covid-19 vaccine mandates imposed by businesses and government agencies, has increased the spread of misinformation.

 https://www.newsweek.com/trump-classified-document-audio-hannity-1803987

The audio recording prosecutors are reported to have obtained was recorded at Trump's golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey.

During a meeting with people who were helping to write the autobiography of former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, Trump is said to have brought up that he was in possession of a classified document while discussing media reports at the time which detailed how his Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Mark Milley talked Trump down from attacking Iran in the final few days of his presidency.

Trump is alleged to have discussed how he had a secret Pentagon paper from Milley and said that if he was allowed to show it to those at the meeting—who did not have security clearance to view classified materials—that it would undermine what Milley was saying.

Republicans ‘Not Interested’ In Whether Biden Bribe Allegation Is True, Chuck Grassley Says

Republicans don’t care if it’s true that Joe Biden accepted a bribe as vice president — they just want the FBI to hand over its record of the uncorroborated allegation.

That’s according to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), one of the two Republicans leading the effort to obtain the FBI’s raw material.

“We are not interested in whether the allegations against Vice President Biden are accurate or not,” Grassley said Thursday morning on Fox News. “We’re responsible for making sure the FBI does its job, and that’s what we want to know.”

The fierce debate over rewriting children's classics

 https://www.bbc.com/culture/article/20230530-roald-dahl-the-fierce-debate-over-rewriting-childrens-classics

It is perhaps worth remembering that it is not just children's literature that is subject to these sorts of revisions. Both Agatha Christie and Ian Fleming have recently had offensive references removed. Nor is it a new practice. Charles Dickens was so stung by the hurt reproaches of a Jewish reader over his depiction of the villainous Fagin that he halted a reprinting of Oliver Twist mid-run and removed many of the references to Fagin as "the Jew". The kindly Jewish character of Mr Riah in Our Mutual Friend, Dickens's last completed novel, seems to have been intended as an atonement.
