5 Towns Jewish Times
Members of the Monsey based Bais Din investigating the charges against Leib Tropper has been receiving a series of threatening phone calls from people. The threats have ranged from threats of utterly destroying the Rabbis to getting people to pray for the downfall and destruction of the Rabbis involved in the investigation. [...]
Who is on the Bais Din? I have not seen any names mentioned. Even Rabbi Ribiat shlita did not sy he was part of one. Who appointed the Bais Din? This story sounds like a 5tjt invention.
ReplyDeleteThis is not an invention but a description of reality.
ReplyDeleteRabbi Ribiat's investigation is being threatened.
Ohhhh! Who died and made Tropper the new Mafiaso don who threatens violence on judges and jury.
ReplyDeleteStay out of my territory Tropper.
It may be an exageration to call that a "beis din", though.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, if the threat is to pray for their destruction, the threat is only as strong as the case against even investigating the matter. IOW, nothing to worry about.
What is DOES say is that someone is sure this group will not find Tropper guilty. According to one version of the story, Tropper would invite an independent examination which would clear his name.
Why the fear of investigation rather than welcoming it?
So, is it that they already decided they are a kangaroo court, not an honest investigation? Or is it that the someone knows he's guilty?

When this entire sordid saga is finally all over and Tropper & Co and his "projects" are finally forced into unconditional retirement, the media award for the most responsible reporting as well as caring the most about Troppergate, the related corruption and the self-inflicted downfall of Tropper's institutions by his self-destructive behavior and sexcapades will definitely go to the 5 Towns Jewish Times that picked up the baton at just the right time and secured interviews with lead rabbis and has focused on responsible and in-context, biting yet respectful, reportage.
ReplyDeleteThe deafening silence from the so-called mainstream English-language weeklies (that people pay MONEY to buy!!!) is nothing less than SHOCKING!!!
And it's not just that The Jewish Press, the Hamodiah, the Yated, the Binah and the Mishpacha magazine for hire have been 100% silent about Troppergate with a self-imposed dumbfounding silence on this horrendous matter that has gripped the Torah world for close on two months, but even the non-Orthodox Forward and New York's The Jewish Week, after running about one story each about Tropper's scandalous resignation have shut themselves up about Troppergate in a self-imposed pact of silence.
The Forward (it's owned by Michael Steinhardt, Tom Kaplan's investor friend) and The Jewish Week (owned and run as a subsidiary of the UJA of New York where Steinhardt also has pull, after all he is the chief sponsor of the Israel Birthright program) are one side of the media silence about Troppergate.
On the other side of the coin, the English-language Orthodox and Haredi papers are ultimately influenced by the policies emanating from the Agudath Israel rabbis, and their cumulative silence makes them a party to the Troppergate scandal by imposing such a tight news blackout while the Troppergate story is flooding the Jewish blogosphere (whom they blame for merely focusing on facts and expressing outrage) and of course, the 5 Towns Jewish Times gets the gutsiest reporting award!
What a sad state of affairs!
http:/www. Troppergate.com run by an insider in Monsey is reporting that Rabbi Leib Tropper has formally resigned and told a select few, one of whom told him shortly afterwards.
ReplyDeleteShmarya reports that as this morning Tropper resigned as Rosh teshiva
ReplyDeletehttp://failedmessiah.typepad.com/failed_messiahcom/2010/02/tropper-resigns-as-rosh-yeshiva-456.html
Failed Messiah is reporting that Tropper spoke to the talmidim at Kol Yaakov this morning, telling them he was resigning.
ReplyDeleteJust saw this! http://eternaljewishfraud.blogspot.com/2010/02/tropper-menuval-steps-down.html
ReplyDeleteLooks like he has resigned!!!
It is not enough that he has "resigned" bu whatever authorities, both rabbinic and secular, who are looking into all the doings and goings on of the Troppergate scandal must ensure, verify and make public that ALL of Tropper's ventures have been legally and absolutely put out of business forever!
ReplyDeleteThat means that until the intelligent public is convinced of the clear proof that EJF, Horizons and Kol Yaakov are 100% out of business forever then the shadow of Tropper's influence and his extended powers will never be removed.
None of Tropper's business associates, disciples or colleagues must be allowed to continue in any roles in any organizations founded and run by Tropper Inc.
Someone (probably part of Ezekiel 8:13 group) here threatened the rabbis to do something about the Tropper affair before February 5th, so I guess the rabbis try to preempt them

ReplyDeleteBaruch Mordechai!
I'm not overly concerned about Tropper's fate. As long as potential victims are protected.
ReplyDeleteMore critical IMHO is that our response must reassure the questioning teenager, the DovBer, Not-the-Godol-Hador, UOJ, and all the other people for whom our community's behavior as grown into a crisis of faith, that yes, we do more than pay lip service to the concepts of ehrlachkeit, ethics, refinement and truth.
It would help if the gap between the attention we do pay and "lip service" were greater.

BEWARE!!!! Tropper is a shrewd operator! He probably stepped down just till the heat passes over. BRILLIANT IDEA!! When he takes his name off the legal papers of KY and Horizons - then you can say - Yitamu Chataim min ha'aretz!
ReplyDeleteShut down Tropper/EJF/Horizons/Kol Yaakov PERMANENTLY: A 12 Step Program!
ReplyDelete1. Leib and Leba Tropper must be put in CHEREM immediately! There are enough good rabbonim to do so. Tropper must PERMANENTLY give up all positions in the rabbinate. No more "rosh yeshiva" of anything no more "rabbi of this and that" and all the titles he collected like a tin pot dictator. Preferably the Tropper family must leave Monsey and settle in place like Switzerland (Tom Kaplan can buy them a chalet near a minyan) or in Florida (they have friends there) as PRIVATE CITIZENS stripped of all rabbinic rank, power and influence!
2. EJF must be shut down PERMANENTLY!
3. Kol Yaakov yeshiva in Monsey must be shut down PERMANENTLY!
4. Horizons outreach program must be shut down PERMANENTLY!
5. The Lillian Jean Kaplan Foundation must be shut down PERMANENTLY !
6. Menachem Lubinsky of LUBICOM must be boycotted PERMANENTLY for the damage he facilitated by acting as EJF's PR and propaganda czar.
7. Tom Kaplan and his wife Dafna Recanati, the enablers of Tropper/EJF/Horizons in these last years, must be kept out from the Orthodox and Charedi community (they are not religious Jews in any case and don't care much about wanting to be religious) and not one more cent must ever be accepted from them by anyone in the Torah world, PERMANENTLY!
8. No more funds should be accepted in the Orthodox and Charedi world from Guma (he should have a refuah sheleimah bekarov) and Jamie Aguiar, and Guma's mother Ellen Kaplan Aguiar and the Aguiar family or their Lillian Jean Kaplan Foundation -- PERMANENTLY. They were also originally Tropper's enablers with the EJF scheme.
9. Rav Reuven Feinstein must be put on notice to STOP his support of the immoral and corrupt Leib Tropper AT ONCE and NOT harass and instigate problems against those from Rav Sternbuch's side who have had the courage to speak the truth when it was not popular. Had R Reuven Feinstein heeded the advice of those from the BADATZ he would not be in the sick situation he is in now. He only has himself to blame. When you sleep with the dogs you catch fleas.
Ugly behavior ought not be tolerated, period.
ReplyDeleteThat said, who in fact convened the beis din?
Is Tropper cooperating? Has he denied the allegations? Has he spoken with the beis din directly? If indeed he is cooperating with the beis din, why has the lawyer he retained not publicly denied the allegations?
One must assume that since the beis din is 'still hard at work' Tropper has either not spoken to them (strange behavior for a rav who has been wrongly accused) or he has denied the accusations- in which case one must wonder why there has been no public statement to that fact.
http://eternaljewishfraud.blogspot.com/2010/02/tropper-menuval-steps-down.html
ReplyDeleteI see his official title is now Menuval. How would it be abbreviated, as many honorary titles for rabbis are abbreviated? Perhaps MeShBaM = "Menuval She b' Menuvalim"
ReplyDeleteIt is almost as good has when he was Hagaon HaRav.
He was never called Hagaon Harav.
ReplyDeleteThe Kosha Nostra, Tony.
ReplyDeleteTropper is Troubled
ReplyDeleteYou are an extremist. All that really matters is that Tropper is in Cherem and away from all these organizations. These are all fundamentally good organizations that were poisoned by Troppers influence. I believe once all ties have been cut off these organizations will flourish.
I don't believe Troppers people did the threatening. This could be the Satmar guy or others who are afraid of their names coming out. What a mess!

Sorry, but here is a pre-gilui quote: "The Conference was lead by the Chairman of the Rabbinic Committee of Eternal Jewish Family, Hagaon Rabbi Leib Tropper shlit’a, who was the one who saw the need for strengthening the fortifications of proper halachic conversion at this time"
the article titled :
"Conversion Regulations are Preserving the Flask of Pure Oil of the Jewish Nation"

Irony of ironies, menuval of menuvalim!

Ah, you still don't know what Tropper and his cohorts are capable of.
Ignorance is bliss.
Sons of Eli:
ReplyDelete1 Samuel Chapter 2

Now Eli was very old; and he heard all that his sons did unto all Israel, and how that they lay with the women that did service at the door of the tent of meeting.
