R' Amnon Yitzchok says Rav Ovadiya Yosef faked stroke

kikarhashabat

  1. If this is the behaviour of Torah "giants", no wonder we have so many disillusioned folks.

"R' Amnon Yitzchok says Rav Ovadiya Yosef faked stroke"

RaP: With each passing day, Amon Yitzhak (AY) proves how impossible he really is. Does AY have proof to back up his accustion such as by speaking to doctors who are in the know?

"Mighty Garnel Ironheart said...If this is the behaviour of Torah "giants", no wonder we have so many disillusioned folks."

RaP: AY is a total phoney and dwarf (and that is with apologies to dwarfs). He is a liability to the Jewish people, as his statements prove. Which person talks like he does? Maybe he is not well. He is surely suffering from delusions of grandeur and megalomania.

    The article doesn't say that.

It claims that R' Amnon Yitzchak alleged that he wouldn't put it past the Shas people to drive R' Ovadia on Shabbos in order to benefit the party [in the elections].

In other words, RAY doesn't suspect that R' Ovadia faked a stroke on Shabbos, with all the chillul Shabbos that was entailed, rather that he doesn't trust the people around him. What may have happened was that R' Ovadia felt weak, and the matter was overblown for political gain.

הם (בני ביתו המסורים של הגר"ע יוסף ואנשי ש"ס ק.ר) מסוגלים גם להסיע את הרב בשבת בשביל להצליח במפלגה

  6. Israel Reader,
At least somebody on this site knows how to read Hebrew. Obviously, RAY never said what the headline claimed. He never said that the Rov faked a stroke, but he claimed that a rumor of physical suffering because of RAY was a fake. This headline is mamosh motsee shem Ra on a person who has learned a lot and done a lot of good things.

      I'll give you my translation:

Rav Amnon Yitzchok stated, "the three chareidi newspapers were not fooled and that is the reason that they didn't mention Rav Yosef's stroke at all because they reasoned that it was also staged.[meaning that there is no other explanation for them not mentioning it except their was no actual stroke and they didn't believe Rav Yosef's supporters that it was a stroke] The members of Rav Yosef's household who are devoted to Rav Yosef and members of Shas would also be willing to take the Rav on Shabbos for the sake of political success."[meaning that the family would violate Shabbos when they knew for certain that it wasn't a stroke and therefore not even sofek nefashos - for the sake of political gain]

When a person suspects that a stroke has occurred - and in this case there was muscle weakness that a doctor told Rav Yosef indicated a possible stroke - is at least sofek pikuach nefesh for which one is obligated to violate Shabbos. To state that the taking of Rav Yosef - which Rav Yosef agreed to - was for the sake of political gain - is a disgusting libel. Don't know how else you can read this other than dismissing the possiblity that Rav Yosef had a stroke i.e., that the report of a stroke was fake and was done for political reasons.

  7. Well, I guess I have to learn how to read Hebrew. So he did go to the hospital because of a valid medical problem. You are right. The American media carried it that he was hospitalized. So RAY was discussing a real going to the hospital. Did he say that ROY faked a stroke for political gain to make RAY look bad? Let's see if I should capitulate to you on this.
I read it this way. A very old man who has a slight symptom is rushed to the hospital, not because he had a stroke, but because in his condition the slightest this or that is reason for concern. So, he went, not because he was having a stroke, but because something was going on that needed hospital tests and could not be clarified otherwise. Somehow, perhaps, this visit to the hospital was construed by some as being caused by the aggravations of RAY. Maybe it was, who knows. Perhaps, some people not knowing what happened assumed that he went in on Shabbos because he had something terrible, a stroke or what. The three papers did not publish this because actually the whole thing was a normal procedure out of the extreme caution such a person medically requires. But RAY felt that some people were using this visit as an excuse to blame him for the visit. He then attacked not Rav Yosef chas visholom but some of the people who feel obligated to wage his wars. If this is true or not I don't know, but it may be true, and to say that RAY claimed that ROY faked a stroke is just not true, at least with my limited Hebrew I don't see it. Show me the words "Rav Ovayda Yosef faked a stroke."

  8. You're right, R Dovid. To impute that claim to A. Yitzchak is major libel. And in general, whether you like his theatrical political flair or not, the AY is zooming in on a sadly all too well known fact: Gdoilim are often surrounded by sly, unethical politicians -- no matter how long their beard and Shmona Esrei -- that make our holy Torah into a hypocricy. They use the greatest models of Torah devotion for their own gains.

Its incumbant on all of us to try to puncture this klippa. AY in his own way is trying...

  9. yy,
I think what you just said requires some proof. I don't know Gedolim in this category. We have a situation with ROY where he is an old man being cared for by his immediate family. His closest relatives and associates care for him and maybe fight for him just as every person fights for their parents and relatives. This is not corruption. It is life. We have to keep a perspective here. These are two mighty and good people and the Satan is making problems. Let us not help him.
