The damage MK Zvi Sukkot failed to do to a monument, he did to the State of Israel, and his latest provocation is only part of a broader breakdown of the rules that could set Judea and Samaria ablaze. While the political echelon warns of Palestinian forces "turning their guns" on Israel, it is itself creating the conditions for that to happen.

It is worth returning to the IDF's original warning, the one that sparked the entire debate. Nationalist crime, the General Staff concluded, constitutes a "major inflammatory factor," and "it is evident that the illegal actions taking place in Palestinian villages are rousing the (Palestinian) public from its apathy and creating fertile ground for incitement against Israelis, against the security forces and against the State of Israel, and could lead to a gradual escalation with far-reaching consequences for Israel's security situation."
On one hand, I agree with this. He did a lot of damage to Israel with his stupidity. He's the guy standing on the other side of the fence from a viscious pitbull and taunting it, relying on the fence to protect him. Idiocy.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, this was a monument praising the barbarians of October 7. Putting one of those up should be a crime.
