Rainfall of more than 20 millimeters in August has been recorded only four times since measurements began in Israel. More rain and possible flooding are forecast for Sunday
The Jerusalem area and the northern Judean Desert in the West Bank saw a rare August rain shower on Saturday, with 25 millimeters recorded in the settlement of Ma'aleh Adumim and five millimeters in Jerusalem, according to the Israel Meteorological Service.
