Hundreds protest in support of Mahmoud Khalil outside New York court amid furious backlash against Trump administration crackdown
Khalil has not been charged with a crime. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday that Khalil was detained for deportation due to support for the Hamas terror group. Khalil attended a protest last week at Barnard College, a Columbia affiliate, during which activists handed out pamphlets from the “Hamas media office.”
If he's involved with flyers from a Hamas office (whether it's true or not) and he fails to publicly disclaime it, that makes him a terrorist operative, and is legally subject to deportation (or more accurately, cancellation of his Green Card, and immediate incarceration subject to a hearing. He can always get out of incarceration by taking the next flight out to Syria (where he's from, he's not a Palestinian.). Or perhaps another country that will take him -- I doubt anyone will take him.
ReplyDeleteCorrection -- Iran would take him
