Canada's general election campaign is underway, a 36-day sprint taking place in unprecedented circumstances.
Voters will consider which party should govern the country just as the US - its neighbour and largest economic partner - launches a trade war and President Donald Trump muses about making Canada the 51st US state.
Domestic issues like housing and immigration will still be important, of course, but for the first time in decades, Canadians will also be grappling with fundamental questions about the country's future when they head to the ballot box on 28 April.
Really surprised you had nothing said yet on WZO vote, the asifa, each ones stance, and what the DaasTorah says on it...

DeleteThis election also affects the Jewish community. The Liberals and NDP both court the Muslim vote which means endorsing openly anti-Israeli policies while doing nothing about increasingly common acts of Jews hatred across the country. The Conservatives have decided to come out in support of Israel and the Jewish community.
ReplyDeleteAnd this puts secular Jews into a bad position. You will never meet a Reformative Jew who will say "Yes, I'm a bad Jew." Instead they redefine Judaism and say that they are, in fact, very good Jews because they conforms to the standards they invented which, coincidentally, is pure secular liberalism.
But liberalism has taken a dark turn. In order to be a good member of that club, you have to hate Israel and Jews and many liberal Jews, by choosing to vote Liberal or NDP, are being forced to say "I hate Israel and Judaism" without any possible rational excuse to continue their "But I'm a good Jew!" facade in a believable fashion.
