VERDICT

False. Reuters was unable to find any instance of Montagnier saying the cited quote. His actual comment about ADE is inaccurate and does not reflect real-world evidence.

    Experience indicates that medical treatments that are -- or are thought to be -- effective in the short term can have unexpected and undesirable side effects that become apparent in the medium and long term.
