Covid-19 patients struggle with symptoms after recovery

  1. This is because of how CoVID works, or at least how we think it works.
    With a regular pneumonia, one's lungs fill with inflammation. When the pneumonia is treated, the inflammation slowly goes away and you get your lungs back.
    But CoVID isn't directly inflaming lungs. Instead, it's causing clotting in the capillaries that feed the lung and are used to transfer oxygen and carbon dioxide. It means that even after the infection died down, the capillaries are still shot so you're left with defective lungs. Scary.
