Or we don't got it. But those who make the tests are working on that we do do get them.
So, what next? Are we going to elect someone else President because there aren't enough tests?
No, of course not, right? The tests will be ready in a few months on a large scale and by the middle of the summer the beaches will be full, we'll be gearing up for Presidential debates, and testing systems will be in place if ever needed again.
Solved!
Sigh. I missed my calling. I would have made a great propagandist.
The reason they don't provide tests is that they are afraid that the ER's and Hospitals will be overwhelmed and people will succumb while waiting in line which in turn will cause a panic. Even if true that there aren't yet enough tests/manpower to go around, here is what I have suggested to the authorities in charge:
1) Assess the true magnitude of the coronavirus spread in any given neighborhood all over the Country by doing bulk tests of e.g. per 100 samplings - all into one container en masse as in "Kol Haneorim". If result is negative you have cleared 100 people in one shot. If positive, split the group into 2 X 50 and repeat the same bulk test until you get a true sampling of how many truly affected people per 100, in any given neighborhood. You keep on repeating with per 100 bulk samplings into the thousands and up and you have a true idea of what's happening out there.
2) In order not to overwhelm the system, recruit existing Floating Hospitals, convert Cruise Ships into makeshift Hospitals by sorting them according to the level of severity of the patients, light, mediocre and severe, to each his own. They can be situated next to Port having them handy close by, transporting to and fro, patients, medical supplies, and food. This will alleviate the pressure off the ER's. You set up testing centers anywhere, whether Mobile Lab's, or field tents etc. Veim tirtzu, ein zu Agadah.
Testing. Ok. Everyone wants tests. Got it.
