Police arrested four people Tuesday night following an ultra-Orthodox wedding in the city of Beit Shemesh in which at least 150 people participated, violating Health Ministry guidelines limiting the number of people at gatherings to 10 and closing event halls and restaurants.
According to reports in ultra-Orthodox media sites, the four were the father of the groom, an American citizen, who arrived in Israel from the United States and was supposed to have been in quarantine; the father of the bride; the caterer; and a resident of Jerusalem who reportedly organized the wedding.

  1. This sounds harsh but all 150 must be forced into quarantine. The "We're doing a mitzvah so God will protect us" attitude must be shut down NOW

  6. Thank you! I always wondered who actually bothered themselves with this infantile nonsense. Figured someone had to be....

Aish haTorah has a lot of teshuva to do for their role in perpetuating this genre of con artistry.

I would suspect, however, that its place in Aish's Discovery Seminar was majorly compromised with the advent of the Smartphone, so that now when they boldly drop klalli lies in the seminar room, they get fact-check in near-realtime, something that wasn't possible back when I heard them present.
I had to wait to arrive home before going onto Google and debunking the whole rigmarole, and by that time the debunking was private, for me alone. Now it can be debunked by any listener even before the presentation is over. "Discovery" indeed!
