Thirty-five women who have accused Bill Cosby of drugging and raping them decades ago featured together on the cover of New York Magazine’s latest issue. Over 40 women have come forward since 2005 claiming that the comedian sexually assaulted them, but no charges have so far been filed against him.

Can you please set up a seperate blog where you bring news updates on the filth the world has to offer?
ReplyDeleteThat way I can log on to your blog and read intellectually stimulating articles relevant to the torah world. Any other case of sexual abuse can be posted on the other blog. I don’t need to know the filth of the world through a blog headed da'as Torah.
you miss the point - it is a story which shows that not only are Roshei yeshiva raping women, also goyish comedians in Hollywood, and hence nobody has a monopoly on arayos.
ReplyDelete@John Smith - still don't know why you are still hanging around. My concern is that frum Jews know about the reality of the world in order to protect their families and themselves. The previous approach of living pure lives and being naive about the filfth of the world has resulted in the present disaster. Jews have a yetzer harah problem and if you don't understand the dangers of the yetzer harah then you will end up being a victim.
ReplyDeleteBy the way - what does your Torah look like - have you sanitized it?
That's a similar heter used to allow secular papers and television. A bit more sophisticated.
ReplyDeleteAnybody who doesn't know from chazal and the torah that Jews have a yetzer horo (gasp) is not going to learn this chiddush from your blog.
But how do you decide what filth you post and what you don't? Is it totally random or is there some method. We have a nice scandal here in London with a lord caught. .... Are you going to post about it?
My torah has numerous advice on being careful about reading or hearing about peritzus. No heter to go over the top on reporting bits of filth. I would find it very difficult to focus on my learning whilst running a blog.
I hang about because occasionaly you post a piece that is relevant and helpful. But that is getting rarer and rarer. Hence my requesr for two blogs.
Actually, Eddie, you miss the point, as you do so often. This time, though, your formulation is even more disgusting than usual. You sink to a new low.
ReplyDelete@John Smith - you seem to be up date date on the latest filth - so your objection comes down that you don't want it on this blog - not that you don't want to know about it.
ReplyDeleteI have goals in mind when selecting items - one of which is to make it clear that abuse is not exclusively an Orthodox Jewish problem - but that it is apparently equally prevalent in all communities. can't convey that message properly without reporting abuse amongst non-Jews
John so you should not be running a blog since it would prevent you from learning. I am glad to hear that occasionally you find something helpful. Others find much more that is helpful.
So no I am not running different blogs for different people. There is an interesting chassidic story - punch line is that sometime when people need help you need to get dirty to help them.
Funny. I am so careful not to resort to personal insults or attacks as I know how you respond to posters that insult or attacj you personally.
ReplyDeleteIt seems you have no such qualms. Oh well, its well known that those that resort to personal insult or attack are those who have no logical response.
Unfortunately I am up to date with the filth or at least some of it. I for reasons of parnossoh have to work in an office in London with non Jewish people. They are relatively refined but the big ticket filth is discussed.
I just don't expect to find more in your blog. The bare minimum to achieve your objectives yes, but you now seem to be doing it lemahadrin.
....and we really don't know that without this blog?
ReplyDeleteI can't address the above by name, since he is a troller, and has nothing to say rather than attempt to disprove my comments.
ReplyDeleteHere is what DT writes "I have goals in mind when selecting items - one of which is to make it
clear that abuse is not exclusively an Orthodox Jewish problem - but that it is apparently equally prevalent in all communities."
Here is what I said: "it is a story which shows that not only are Roshei yeshiva raping women, also goyish comedians in Hollywood, and hence nobody has a
monopoly on arayos."
The difference is my sarcasm. The reason why I made the comment is that if this was a Kashrus blog, and had stories of Rabbis and other frum people eating treif, chazir, basar + chalav, it would serve as comic relief to mention that in America you can find these foods in McDonalds etc, and even famous or educated people go there. Thus it is not a defence to say some basketball player was seen eating a cheeseburger in McDonalds, so it is not only Rabbis from the North who do it.
@John Smith - there are many who read this blog who are not as well read as you are about filth This is where they find out.
ReplyDelete@John Smith - you keep repeating your personal goals for a blog - as I have said there are many others who read this blog who are not up to date on these matters.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Without your blog they don't know that goyim commit zenus. Come on. Maybe they don't hear every sordid detail or case. But that's my point. Do we need to hear from you on a blog called daas torah every case you come across where a goy commuts zenus? What an earth for? Just answer the question without silly insults.
ReplyDelete@John you keep repeating your question- You don't accept my answer. I don't agree with you and you don't agree with me. If you have nothing else to talk about I will simply not approve of your comments
ReplyDeleteIf I'm a troller, you're my sole trollee, and only when you make especially outrageous and stupid remarks. (Your ordinarily foolish statements I generally leave alone.) Act as though you're housebroken, and you're safe from me, my dense and dull little trollee.
ReplyDeletethe above comments show that you are in this for personal reasons and out of pettiness rather than an ability to read and understand what is written.
ReplyDeleteI have explained elsewhere my strong objections to your anti-Torah, anti-chareidi comments. If memory fails you, well, that's not your only problem.
ReplyDeleteNope, your comments here are anti-Torah, and mine are not anti Hareidi. In fact, since the comments above are an almost exact duplicate of what RDE says, then you should also be aware that you are attacking him.
ReplyDeleteLet me reiterate how fallacious your statements are:
a) the Torah forbids arayot
b) we are also punished for Hillul Hashem
c) In areas where the nations of the world are more scrupulous on a particular issue than we are, it can chas v'shalom being a harsh judgement on us.
Now, certain frum people and "roshei yeshiva", in this case not even Hareidi engaged in immoral acts, including eishes ish. I mock these people, since they are no more scrupulous than people like Bill Cosbee.
You, Mr Kishke, are defending arayos, defending HIllul Hashem, and merely shooting the messenger.
Thus, it is you who is anti-Torah, and regardless of whether the mechalel is "Hareidi" or Mizrachi, this is all a red herring.
What on earth are you babbling about? Wacky.
ReplyDeleteprecisely - you do not really grasp the issue here. I take it that you are aware of the case of 2 rabbis from the North of Israel? Do you justify their actions, (rape, sexual abuse and niuf)? It doesnt matter what "sector" of "orthodoxy" they graduated from in yeshiva - are these acts right or wrong?
ReplyDeleteThe issue so far as I am concerned is that you hate chareidim and make it clear in your comments, As a sideline, you hate rabbonim too. I don't give a fig for your thought-free conspiracy-minded ramblings about what I supposedly think about the sins of your rabbis of the north. Believe what you like. I've learned that you are incapable of intelligent discourse.
ReplyDelete"you hate chareidim and make it clear in your comments, As a sideline, you hate rabbonim too."
ReplyDeleteThat is insane - I often point out the public disgraces of some of the above - that doesn't mean i hate the majority who are tzaddikim.
Insane or not, it's what you do.
ReplyDeleteyou make these allegations, and in this post in particular you claim i have sunken to a new low. Therefore, you have to show how you arrive at this conclusion. How have I sunken to a new low, by criticizing rapists and noyefim? And by your defence of them (even though at least one was not Hareidi) , are
ReplyDeleteyou supporting their violation of Torah law and arayos?
I don't "have to show" anything. Anyone who likes can read your comment here and your comments elsewhere and decide for themselves.
ReplyDeletebecause you support arayos if committed by Hareidim and Rabbonim. In other words you are Reform/sabbatean.
ReplyDeleteYou come across as nuttier than ever, which is fine. The wackier you seem, the less credence anyone will give your ravings.
ReplyDeletehere is an article about the maasim of one of your heroes:

Sorry, cannot bother to click on your links. You are my hero, Eddie. My hero of comic relief.
ReplyDeleteit is clear you are a troll, as has already been suggested by other posters, hence it is bittul zman to continue communication with you.
ReplyDeleteThat's an empty threat, Eddie, since I have no interest in you communicating with me. But if bitul zman is your worry, you'd do best to stop posting altogether. Every word you write is bitul zman, and some are far worse.
