This was obviously a terror attack of someone following Islamic doctrine. The purposeful blindness expressed by the American government and media is astounding and frightening. They don't need to do another 9/11 attack. They are winning politically.
It is Hashem's plan that they should gain power in our times so that we may trust in Hashem and nothing else.
General Casey and the rest of the top military brass are going around on President's orders to preach political correctness to cover up for Obama's Muslim brothers.
The killer yelled Allah Akbar as he mowed down unarmed people at the Fort Hood hospital.
But no, the only terrorist acts in Obama's world are expanding Jewish settlements on the West Bank.
Rep. John Carter, whose congressional district includes Fort Hood in central Texas, said he personally considers the shooting rampage on the Army base a "terrorist act" because witnesses said they heard Maj. Hasan say "Allahu Akbar."
"When he shouted 'Allahu Akbar,' he gave a clear indication that his faith or Muslim view of the world had something to do with it," said the congressman, a Republican.
Mr. Lieberman believes that the Ft. Hood tragedy was an act of Islamic terrorism and yet American Jews believe that Baruch Goldstein's blood bath was an act of a mad man who was reacting to wartime related stress.
Allahu Akbar- G-d is great, is said by 1.5 billion people several times daily. It is the affirmation of faith and belief in the One and True G-d who rules the world, the same G-d whose supremacy Jews worldwide also affirm several times daily.
The mad man who said the Shema as he unloaded his machine gun into worshippers in a mosque, whose reign of terror we all forgave as "post traumatic stress" is not different from the mad man who unloaded his guns at Fort Hood.
American Jews who encourage a Crusade against Islam are also shortening the days in which Jews and every other minority religion will be tolerated in the United States.
Sen. Lieberman should review the history of Spain before the Expulsion. First Islam was the target of the Spanish Church and then Judaism.
In fact during WWII, Muslims worldwide saved about 500,000 Jews, members of my extended family included. If you ask any Muslim scholar about this, you will learn that Muslims understand that when Jews are targeted Muslims are next and when Muslims are targeted, Jews are next.
I can only guess that we are not teaching enough history in our schools.
Jersey Girl, while some of what you say sounds valid, and I do take your interest and good attitude to Islam in the positive spirit it is meant, and why not, no less than the RAMBAM saw value and importance to Islam as a global counterweight to Christianity so that not one religion have hegemony over all mankind (that is until the Mashiach comes), but you are clearly falling into the trap of moral equivalancy far too easily.
Dr. Baruch Goldstein's acts were in Israel and the Muslims and suicide bombers have avenged his actions there by inflicting hundreds of Jewish dead in subsequent suicide bombings since then, not to mention that since then Hizbala and Hamas have fought two wars against Israel, so what does that have to do with the Islamic terrorist in Ft. Hood? Nothing.
There is also the rule of logic and morality that two wrongs do not make right. And in Torah terms one cannot justify one's own wrongdoing based on another's wrongdoings.
Try to avoid lumping every subject into the same homogenized knee-jerk defense of Islam (one can almost hear the violins play in the background when you spout off about the marvels of Islamic-hood), that way you will have more crediblity when you make your points.
How a president responds to a crisis defines him. President Obama has shown how upset he was after the murder of abortion Dr. George Tiller and after the attack on the Holocaust Museum. But when it came to the Ft. Hood shootings, the president twice gave the incident a limited response ...devoting little more than 4 minutes over two separate appearances to the 13 dead and 30 wounded.
In the Tiller case, the president was "shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning." In the case of the museum attack, Obama was "shocked and saddened by today's shooting at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum."
But when it came to the horrendous Ft. Hood shootings, the term "shocked" was nowhere to be found. Instead, the initial response was shoehorned into comments he made opening the White House Tribal Nations Conference. First there were a couple applause lines to Native Americans and Obama's "shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner," who appears not to have won the medal. (Joe Medicine Crow won the Medal of Freedom -- the nation's highest civilian honor.)
Then the president addressed the shooting. While he called the incident "horrible" and a "tragedy" and urged "prayers," the response seemed understated compared to the other incidents. Then, in true Obama fashion, he did manage to make the shootings at least in part about him. "I want all of you to know that as commander in chief, that there's no greater honor but also no greater responsibility for me than to make sure that the extraordinary men and women in uniform are properly cared for and that their safety and security when they are at home is provided for us."
Two minutes and 39 seconds later he was done and without even taking a breath back to talking about the Native American event. Nowhere in his speech or his remarks the next day did he even acknowledge that the attacker was a Muslim. In his statement after the museum attack, he correctly criticized "anti-Semitism and prejudice" but made no mention of religion in the latest incident.
The Nov. 6 appearance took up just 1 minute 30 seconds and this time it was paired with his remarks on the bad unemployment numbers. In all, he spent 4 minutes 9 seconds to address the attack on 43 Americans ...less than 6 seconds per person.

At least, unlike Barack Hussein Obama and his minions, Nidal Malik Hassan's Imam agrees with Senator Liberman while the Obama regime remains deliberately out to lunch on the worst case of Jihadist-inspired and aimed Islamofascist terrorism on USA soil (on an US Army base yet) since the 9/11 (2001) attacks -- one of which also hit the US military's Pentagon (the heart of the US's armed might, just like Fort Hood is the heart of US armored might), but they still want to remain on the opiate of "see no evil, hear no evil, talk no evil" about Islamofascist terrorism even if it's on US soil, after all Obama's middle name is Hussein and how different is that to "Hasan" or what?.
Nidal Hassan is a hero. He is a man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people. This is a contradiction that many Muslims brush aside and just pretend that it doesn’t exist. Any decent Muslim cannot live, understanding properly his duties towards his Creator and his fellow Muslims, and yet serve as a US soldier. The US is leading the war against terrorism which in reality is a war against Islam. Its army is directly invading two Muslim countries and indirectly occupying the rest through its stooges.
Nidal opened fire on soldiers who were on their way to be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. How can there be any dispute about the virtue of what he has done? In fact the only way a Muslim could Islamically justify serving as a soldier in the US army is if his intention is to follow the footsteps of men like Nidal.
The heroic act of brother Nidal also shows the dilemma of the Muslim American community. Increasingly they are being cornered into taking stances that would either make them betray Islam or betray their nation. Many amongst them are choosing the former. The Muslim organizations in America came out in a pitiful chorus condemning Nidal’s operation.
The fact that fighting against the US army is an Islamic duty today cannot be disputed. No scholar with a grain of Islamic knowledge can defy the clear cut proofs that Muslims today have the right -- rather the duty -- to fight against American tyranny. Nidal has killed soldiers who were about to be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in order to kill Muslims. The American Muslims who condemned his actions have committed treason against the Muslim Ummah and have fallen into hypocrisy.
Allah(swt) says: Give tidings to the hypocrites that there is for them a painful punishment -- Those who take disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do they seek with them honor [through power]? But indeed, honor belongs to Allah entirely. (al-Nisa 136-137)
The inconsistency of being a Muslim today and living in America and the West in general reveals the wisdom behind the opinions that call for migration from the West. It is becoming more and more difficult to hold on to Islam in an environment that is becoming more hostile towards Muslims.
May Allah grant our brother Nidal patience, perseverance and steadfastness and we ask Allah to accept from him his great heroic act.
Ameen"
