Three years to the minute after the start of the deadliest single day in Israel’s history, the country marked the somber occasion with a series of ceremonies, memorials and protests at more than 400 locations.

At 6:29 in the morning on October 7, 2023, Hamas-led gunmen stormed Israeli communities along the border with the Gaza Strip, killing more than 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages to the enclave. Those slain included children, women, elderly people and complete families.

The commemoration began with a national moment of silence at the time the attack started. At noon, bereaved families and civil grassroot protest groups will hold a national minute of reflection, joined by various public hospitals, local municipalities, universities and private businesses.

Memorial events will also take place at the Nova festival site in the Re’im Forest, where over 370 people were murdered and 44 were abducted. Additional protest convoys and displays are expected throughout the country all day.

  1. Bibi ran a good war. People who criticize him forget that all the sympathy and support for Israel dissipated the minute the Israeli counter-attack began. Jews are permitted to be tortured, raped and killed. But fight back and destroy their attackers? No, no, no, mustn't have that. Might hold back The Two State Solution(tm).
Bibi knew that. He knew that Biden's administration with the exception of Biden himself, was hostile to Israel and quietly rooting for Iran and Hamas. He knew that he could only do so much so fast to keep the pressure on Biden to stop Israel from becoming too much to handle. He ran the war based on the assumption that any minute he'd get a call from the US saying "Okay, we're cutting off all arms and demanding you surrender to Hamas". A lesser prime mininster would've listened to the bastard Antony Blinken (a second generation survivor itching to create new survivors of a second Holocaust in Israel) and probably ended the assault after a couple of weeks and then sat down to a humiliating hostage deal. Like him or not, Bibi is the only politician in Israel with the cojones to keep going.
But he is also in charge of the most corrupt and morally bankrupt government in Israeli history. He has a minister of police who's watched crime soar across the country but spends his time mocking imprisoned terrorists. He has a minister of finance who's supposed to represent the DL community who has transferred billions to the parasitic Chareidi community whose response to this war is "What? Not our problem! We aren't going to help, we don't care if you're suffering and you better give us increased funding!"
And 3 years later there is still no commission of inquiry and the captain of the ship still blames everyone but himself.
This is tragic and if it does change it becomes a terrible threat to the Jewish people, not just Israel.
