And I ask, who are we fooling? Yes, of course, the average Charedi on the street probably isn’t participating in the demonstrations. I would imagine that many of them aren’t the greatest supporters of them. But is it really a fringe phenomenon?

Only a small number of Russians in 1917 were dedicated Communist. By the 1930's it was still just a small percentage. But the moral cowardice of the masses and their cooperation allowed this small number to create the Communist state.
ReplyDeleteYanky K, the Vishnitizer, have relatively few die-hard followers but the majority are so scared of breaking ranks they will allow fanatics to drag the whole community down.
