The top US general said on Tuesday it was still unknown whether the
coronavirus emerged from a wet market in China, a laboratory or some
other location.
“Did it come out of the virology lab in Wuhan? Did it occur in a wet
market there in Wuhan? Did it occur somewhere else? And the answer to
that is: We don’t know,” Army General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint
Chiefs of Staff, told a news conference, according to Reuters.

The problem with this analysis is there it's it's ignoring warnings made before this event about handling dangerous viruses in Labs and also documented escapes previously which have taken place in China and also elsewhere.

But if it came from a wet market, well let's remember that Swine Flu and the original SARS also did and that China also promised twice to shut down wet markets and then didn't. Which again means a crime against humanity.

ReplyDeleteWarnings prove there was a high risk it this happening. Now that it has happened, there is a high probability that the warnings were warranted and sadly unheeded.
ReplyDeleteA bit like zionism, which warned there is no future for jews in Europe. Even after the holocaust, a large section of orthodoxy see no truth in Herzl 'S understanding of politics , antisemitism and it's culmination in the shoah.
It's not yet been demonstrated if a modified virus was engineered by China. However, it may be.

Or, several escapes have happened in the past, but were contained. In science, rarely if ever is there 100% proof. 95% is a good outcome.
ReplyDeleteIf we look at trends, it's only a matter of time until there's a leak from a lab turns into a pandemic. So there is high probability that this leaked from a lab.
The more evidence of exposure, sloppy practices and cover ups, the higher that probability gets.

ReplyDeleteThis is America. We routinely find people guilty and obligate them to pay money based on the principle of the "preponderance-of-the-evidence."

So: no evidence of Chinese criminal behavior. PLENTY of evidence of negligence. And that's in regard to notifying the rest of the world, forget about where it started. But if we include the warnings, the sloppy lab, AND the cover-up, the Chinese are AT LEAST indicted for criminal behavior.
Donald Trump mishandled the crisis. But you know, he didn't really get any info that wasn't publicly available. So just about the whole world mishandled the crisis if we use the standard applied to Donald Trump.
Oh...did I just defend the worst President of the USA in history? I publicly retract. Please don't push me out a window Russian-style or disappear me Chinese-style or deplatform me American-style.
