Sweden records highest number of coronavirus deaths for three weeks as it announces plan to hire 10,000 more nursing assistants after pandemic exposed care home failures

Sweden recorded its highest number of coronavirus deaths in three weeks, with 147 more fatalities.
It comes as Swedish authorities plan to permanently hire up to an additional 10,00 staff to address shortcomings in elderly care exposed by the virus.
Sweden's coronavirus deaths have fluctuated over the past week, with figures dramatically falling before a huge surge in new deaths on Wednesday.

  1. This is where the press loses credibility. At the start of the pandemic, the conservative government in the UK and the liberal government in Sweden both chose the same approach - protect the elderly, let the virus spread in the rest of the population to bring about herd immunity. The UK was condemned but Sweden was praised for doing the exact same thing. After a couple of weeks, the UK realized this was not working and reversed course. Sweden still hasn't. Its numbers are the worst in Scandanavia by far but the press continues to question: hey, maybe the Swedes are onto something?

  2. The media really has no interest in truth. That is sad because it completely eliminates their ability to serve an informative role in society when there is useful information that needs to be conveyed to the public. They eroded their trust and now even if they tell the truth or warn about something important, it will fall on deaf ears.
Thus today we have people "protest" over wearing a mask during a deadly respiratory virus pandemic. Protesting against basic knowledge about how a virus is transmitted, which we knew already even back in 1918 despite having no ability to identify a virus, test for it, etc. People donned masks in 1918 because it's common sense.

I agree with every word of Rabbi Fisher.
Today the public sees and hears everything. I try in my appeal to the NYS Court of Appeals to show that I’m the good guy. Yesterday I sent in a correction. I write there:
“9.Susan's status was changed to divorcee as of February 17, 1993. Yes NYS courts can determine my responsibilities, to pay child support. I offered 50%. So she got 55% from early 1994. That's ok with me. Susan maintained my house. It's ok with me she keeps the house. I'm proud to say I always pay child support for our 6 children. The 6 children are grown up now. I have no more obligation to pay child support. It's a crime to take from pension.”
I was surprised to read in Pacer on Mendel Epstein a letter May 8, 2020, by R. Joseph Gribko Assistant U.S. Attorney:
“Moreover, Defendant should be required to serve the sentence that this Court imposed for his criminal conduct. Epstein was the leader of a criminal organization that arranged and carried out numerous violent kidnappings. He bragged of these kidnappings and the violent assaults that resulted in painful injuries to the victims in recorded conversations. He used his exalted status in the Orthodox community to recruit young and impressionable men under the guise that this criminal conduct was sanctioned by their religion, which ultimately landed them in prison. Epstein was sentenced to 120 months’ incarceration for this conduct just four years ago, when the defendant was 70, and suffering from many of the same conditions he presents today. [ECF 394].
Defendant fails to demonstrate how release, approximately 4 years into a 10-year sentence for a serious violent crime, reflects the seriousness of the offense, promotes respect for the law, and provides just punishment for the offense.”

Wow am I glad I’m in Israel. America is so bad.

DT, you’re a psychology and Rabbinic scholar. How would advised Mendel Epstein to respond to letter May 8, 2020, by R. Joseph Gribko Assistant U.S. Attorney. It’s for public view, like my fighting for my pension. Mendel Epstein already put in about responses. I don’t see in Mendel Epstein’s responses any remorse or contrition. Mendel Epstein and his supporters are sorry they got caught. In parsha אמור we see: “If anyone
maims his fellow, as he has done so shall it be done to him. fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The injury he inflicted on another shall be inflicted on him” (Leviticus 24:19-20).
    Baba Kama 84a:
The School of R. Ishmael taught: Scripture says: So shall it be given to him again.4 The word ‘giving’ can apply only to pecuniary compensation. But if so, would the words, As he hath [given a blow that] caused a blemish,4 similarly refer to money?5 — It may be replied that at the School of R. Ishmael this text was expounded as a superfluous verse; since it has already been written, And if a man maim his neighbour,’ as he hath done so shall it be done to him.6 Why after this do we require the words, so shall it be given to him again? It must, therefore refer to pecuniary compensation. [But still,] why the words, as he hath [given a blow that] caused a blemish in a man? Since it was necessary to write, so shall it be given to him again,7 the text also writes, as he hath [given a blow that] caused a blemish in a man.

  6. Torah thought on בהר בחקתי
“Do not wrong ולא תונו one another, but fear your God; for I the Lord am your God.” (Leviticus 25:17).
People wrongfully think that money comes from their hard work and skill.
Everything comes from God’s blessings. Allow me to quote haftorah of אמור:
“They shall declare to My people what is sacred and what is profane, and inform them what is clean and what is unclean. In lawsuits, too, it is they who shall act as judges; they shall decide them in accordance with My rules. They shall preserve My teachings and My laws regarding all My fixed occasions; and they shall maintain the sanctity of My sabbaths. [A priest] shall not defile himself by entering [a house] where there is a dead person. He shall defile himself only for father or mother, son or daughter, brother or unmarried sister. After he has become clean, seven days shall be counted off for him; and on the day that he reenters the inner court of the Sanctuary to minister in the Sanctuary, he shall present his sin offering—declares the Lord God. This shall be their portion, for I am their portion; and no holding shall be given them in Israel, for I am their holding. The meal offerings, sin offerings, and guilt offerings shall be consumed by them. Everything proscribed in Israel shall be theirs. All the choice first fruits of every kind, and all the gifts of every kind—of all your contributions—shall go to the priests. You shall further give the first of the yield of your baking to the priest, that a blessing may rest upon your home.” (Ezekiel 44:23-30).

  7. Allow me to quote from Pacer Mendel Epstein’s response May 11, 2020 to May 8, 2020 letter:
“The Government is not arguing Mr. Epstein is a danger to the community like Mr.
Gamble or a flight risk like Mr. Desage, quite simply because they cannot. Nothing in
Mr. Epstein’s history – both while incarcerated and released – indicates that serving the
full length of his original sentence is necessary to keep Mr. Epstein from recidivating. His
history of violence exists in the past, and that past violence is not an accurate predicator
of future violence, particularly here, where the defendant is elderly, making him
statistically and physically less likely to pose a danger or to recidivate. Mr. Epstein is an
elderly offender with no extensive prior criminal history, has never been considered a
flight risk by the Court, has never violated the terms of his release, and has not
demonstrated an unabashed pattern of misconduct.”
Mendel Epstein and his supporters have to show remorse and contrition for Mendel Epstein’s “history of violence exists in the past.” Otherwise there is a danger to the community.
I cannot understand how Aryeh Ralbag, whom Judge Freda granted immunity and ordered him to testify, could publicly call for a six month jail sentence for a supposed recalcitrant husband. A man refuses to divorce his wife---is this Rabbi Aryeh Ralbag’s business? Don’t we believe: “A passerby who gets embroiled in someone else’s quarrel Is like one who seizes a dog by its ears.” (Proverbs 26:17). ORA must shut down, yes?

“Moreover, it seems to imply that any minority can hold the majority ransom by getting in a huff and threatening to disengage. This is little more than advocation capitulation to the tyranny of the minority –and in this case, a tiny minority. Indeed, after almost three decades of being proved disastrously wrong, the Oslowian Israeli Left (Labor & Meretz) comprise a mere 5% of the current Knesset—with polls predicting even less for the future. Significantly, Labor, the party, which wrought Oslo upon the people, and was once the hegemonic force in the country, has all but been obliterated from the political arena. One wonders, therefore, why Pipes displays so much caring sensitivity for such a marginalized and mistaken minority.”
I apply this to the K-G heter and to ORA. Surely, Rabbi Mendel Epstein is proud of the court’s calling him: leader of a criminal organization:
    a letter May 8, 2020, by R. Joseph Gribko Assistant U.S. Attorney:
“Epstein was the leader of a criminal organization that arranged and carried out numerous violent kidnappings. He bragged of these kidnappings and the violent assaults that resulted in painful injuries to the victims in recorded conversations. He used his exalted status in the Orthodox community to recruit young and impressionable men under the guise that this criminal conduct was sanctioned by their religion, which ultimately landed them in prison.”
Surely, the views of the K-G garbage heter and ORA are a marginalized and mistaken minority. This marginalized and mistaken minority are fiercely loyal to Rabbi Mendel Epstein their leader of a criminal organization that arranged and carried out numerous violent kidnappings.
We should read closely Rabbi Mendel Epstein’s postings in Pacer, e.g. May 11, 2020: “His history of violence exists in the past, and that past violence is not an accurate predicator of future violence, particularly here, where the defendant is elderly, making him statistically and physically less likely to pose a danger or to recidivate. Mr. Epstein is an elderly offender with no extensive prior criminal history, has never been considered a
flight risk by the Court, has never violated the terms of his release, and has not
demonstrated an unabashed pattern of misconduct.”
Predicator = In a legal sense, the term predicate means to base something, such as a fact, statement, or action, on another thing. For instance, a person may agree to give a crate of baseball bats to the local little league, predicated on (or based on) a parent’s withdrawal of a lawsuit. The term is also used in criminal law, as a “predicate offense” is one that is part of a larger criminal offense or scheme.
Rabbi Fischer argues so well http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/280235
“I hate that they all keep getting away with it. Every single one of them gets away with it. There is absolutely no price to be paid on the left for perjury, for conspiracy to overturn a legitimate election, for treason.”
The K-G garbage heter and ORA keep getting away with violations of Torah. They pay no price. The FBI caught them in a sting operation. Do they show remorse or contrition? No.
