As the COVID-19 crisis worsens, the world also faces a global
misinformation pandemic. Conspiracy theories that behave like viruses
themselves are spreading just as rapidly online as SARS-CoV-2 does
offline. Here are the top 10 conspiracy theories making the rounds.
Except escape from the lab has been suggested by professor Richard ebright, who is a leading microbiologist. He is highly critical of Trump, so you cannot accuse him of loyalty to POTUS. The article here lumps together freak theories, like 5g and virus denial, with a credible theory proposed by a leading scientist in the field. I follow Ebright on twitter, he's very sharp, and attacks Trump administration all the time.
ReplyDeletesuggested you meant to say speculated - since he has no evidence
ReplyDeleteIt came from somewhere, there is equally no evidence it came directly from wild Bats to the Wet market.
ReplyDeleteHis analysis is based on the fact that even the most secure labs in China, taiwan etc have had leaks before, with SARS being leaked twice from the beijing Lab.

ReplyDeleteHear the opposing view in devastating detail (if you have the guts!)

No, opposing view should come from a proper scientist, not the freaks you find. For example, in Talmud, you can listen to other opinions, Tannaim, and rishonim tosafot etc. But there is no real stature of listening to atheists, christians, Muslims , Hindus, etc. Moreover, cults such as Scientology etc must be discarded completely. The problem is, you come up with cult opinions, such as David Icke - yemach shmo, and expect to be taken seriously

ReplyDeleteThat's Open orthodoxy. I'm glad you approve.
ReplyDeleteare you claiming the Talmud approves of Open Orthodoxy?!
ReplyDeleteJust brought clear evidence that your original claim is simply not true. Instead of acknowledging this you decide to cast aspersion on the Talmud?!
It was a joke.
ReplyDeleteOpen o didn't exist then.
I accept that my original claim is too narrow and needs to be revised.
The Talmud you cite is open to the opinions of minim /heretics. Why would my bringing OO be an attack on the Talmud? You cited it to show that chazal mention, discuss and possibly even accept statements made by some minim. Unless you have a radically different interpretation?
poor joke!
ReplyDeleteno I agree with your last statement
