Fact-checking Trump claims about war in Ukraine - Trump is a Russian Asset

 https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c9814k2jlxko

US President Donald Trump has appeared to accuse Ukraine of being responsible for the war with Russia, in a flurry of claims from his Mar-a-Lago mansion in Florida.

Speaking to reporters, Trump also made claims about President Volodymyr Zelensky's popularity and observed that Ukraine had yet to hold scheduled elections due to martial law. He later doubled down on those comments in a fiery Truth Social post on Wednesday.

Trump's accusations - some of which appeared to mirror common Russian talking points about the war - came just hours after US officials met a Russian delegation in Riyadh to open talks to end the conflict, which has raged for almost three years.

Zelensky later accused Trump of "living in a disinformation space" created by Russia.

BBC Verify has fact-checked Trump's claims.

  1. You know how non-religious Jews who know nothing about Talmud dismissively wave it away as "something the rabbis wrote that has nothing to do with Judaism"? People who don't understand Russia also do the same thing here but Trump, he actually understands Russia.
Russia historically has seen itself as the centre of the world and the envy of civilization. As a result, it sees itself surrounded by enemies who would like nothing more than to plunder its wealth. This is a traditional Russian attitude.
Russia also fears invasion from the West. If you say "Well obviously NATO has no plans" they will reply "Napolean and Hitler." They are well aware that one reason the Allies allowed Hitler, y"sh, to rebuild the German military and tried to befriend him is because they were hoping he'd attack the USSR and cripple it. Westerners have short attention spans and have forgotten this. The Russians haven't. That's why they turned the Warsaw Pact into servile dependencies. Those countries were a buffer zone against the inevitable Western attack they constantly expected. Yes, the USSR actually was the aggressor and was the side with plans for world domination but the Russian attitude is "We're the victims." It's how they think.
So now look at the map - NATO is all along their Western border. The Eastern European countries joined because they felt threatened by Russia but the Russians don't get that. They see NATO just crouching there waiting to pounce.
As for Ukraine, the Russians consider that part of their historical empire. It's their Yehuda and Shomron and right now it's a separate country they can't control with delusions of joining NATO and the EU. Again, that would be to the Russians what the PLO formally creating a country in Yehuda and Shomron and kicking out all the Jews would be to us. Yes, it's nuts but it's how they think.
So Trump is trying to approach them from that angle. Sure Vlad, NATO's a threat. Sure Vlad, Ukraine is part of Russia but hey, it's too far gone for you to have the whole thing. Let's settle for a small chunk and a promise never to put NATO in there and call it a day.
Do you have a better idea?

    1. Garnel this is truly brilliant! I had mistakenly thought that Trump just was identifying with Putin and would have acted the same.
You have shown that Trump is a true genius and has found the formula for world peace. It is called Unconditional Surrender!
Imagine if that was utilized against Hitler.
Israel and all nations should get rid of their armies and build welcome stations.
If we had only known to concede everything to the Arabs we would have had peace years ago.
      Nobel Prize solution for sure!
Can readily be applied to all types of conflict even Shalom Bayis and child rearing

    3. Well what do you think happened in 1949? Israel had finally built its military power up enough to take Yehuda and Shomron. They had plans to do it and the troops were getting into position.
But then the British called the UN and said that since Jordan was an ally, a defeat of the Arab Legion would be seen as an attack on Britain and would lead to them entering the war to defend their ally. And then the UN showed up and demanded a ceasefire because the Jews were winning. Now, according to your logic, Ben Gurion should've said "No, we're not giving up any of our land!" and kept fighting.

  3. Reagan was a different type of republican. He was fighting the soviet union. Putin is a Soviet leader, and wants his empire again.
What would have happened if Russia had stayed in Afghanistan?
Maybe there would not be al Qaeda, or 9/11.
Maybe they would have deterred Iran.
It's not really possible to say whether foreign interventions have beneficial outcomes
