Shabbos (25b) Who is wealthy? Anyone who gets pleasure from his wealth, that is the statement of Rabbi Meir. Rabbi Tarfon says: A wealthy person is anyone who has one hundred vineyards, and one hundred fields, and one hundred slaves working in them. Rabbi Akiva says: Anyone who has a wife whose actions are pleasant. Rabbi Yosei says: Anyone who has a bathroom close to his table…
So a commode next to the dining room table?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the definition in Avos trumps all of these.
Close by the table, not at the table or next to the table. Like having a powder room, like many people have.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you have to say
stupid things
And since when does Avos trump a Shas Mishna?
ReplyDeleteThe houses people lived in 2000 years ago are not the same as today, where we might have 2 or more indoor bathrooms
DeleteAvos is a Shas Mishna last I checked.
DeleteAvos is not considered as strong as other Shas mishnayos. Its mostly considered middos Chasaidus. You know that already. You just like mistating things.
DeleteThe Chazal quoted in the post is also not a mishnah halahkha but a midos chassidus like Avos.
