Since taking office in January 2017, President Donald Trump has been besieged by civil lawsuits and criminal investigations of his inner circle.
With Democrat Joe Biden capturing the presidency on Saturday, according to all major U.S. television networks, Trump’s legal woes are likely to deepen because in January he will lose the protections the U.S. legal system affords to a sitting president, former prosecutors said.
On one hand, this is the US where, as Conrad Black points out, prosecutors have a 95% success rate and usually only fail when the target is extremely rich and can outspend the government.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, here's Trump who can fill a stadium if he wants to give a speech and has millions of fans (suckers, all) who will not hesitate to fork over whatever he demands to hear him speak. He will lose at trial, appeal, and appeal again. This will be entertaining for years.
