Kobi Nachshoni, who revealed the details to Ynet, said that the judges decided to publish the name and photo of Tal Gil, 26, of Rehovot, so that social pressure might convince her to accept the writ of divorce and free her chained husband from the marriage.
Tal was married to her husband for just three days, and since then has refused to accept the court's ruling that she must agree to accept the writ of divorce.
Tal's husband told Ynet: "We tried to do everything to end this difficult saga quickly, and with as little damage to either side as possible, but the injustice, the anguish, and the damage done to me because of her refusal [to divorce] did not leave any options."
"The State of Israel gives get-refusers the power of a country's president to grant a person his freedom. It's not reasonable and it's not proportional."
Tal responded: "I am not against receiving the get, but as I told the rabbinical court, according to Maimonides' Torah law, which is accepted in my family, we need to complete all the other divorce proceedings before I receive the get (writ of divorce). As for the shaming, I did nothing wrong and I have nothing to be ashamed of. The embarrassment belongs to the rabbinical court, in how it handled things. Throughout the process they harmed my rights and my honor while clearly discriminating against me for being a woman and not a man. Were it not for their horrible management, this case would have been over a long time ago."
At the same time, the rabbinical court in Tel Aviv allowed the publication of the details of Haim Hoffman, a get-refuser from the US, in order to pressure him into granting his wife a religious divorce.
Unfortunately we will be sitting on the floor and mourning for yet another Tisha B'Av. Are we surprised given what the gemorrah on Shabbos 139 states about why tzoras happens to Klal Yisroel - only because of the corrupt judges.
Rav Gestetner can publish the truth until the cows come home. Nobody cares. R Kamenetsky has never apologized for his behavior in public. I called him up for help. I never donated to Philli so I am still awaiting a call back from him.
We live in an utterly corrupt world. Unfortunately the corruption now permeates the frum world as well.
“Rav Gestetner regarding Aharon Friedman” Kudos to Rabbi Gestetner for castigating the K-G garbage heter שהאשה קבלה "היתר להנשא בלא גט". and for citing the court documented assault on Aaron Friedman.
Rabbi Gestetner speaks truth and justice. He does not contrive evil and he does not support perjury. “These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to one another, render true and perfect justice in your gates. And do not contrive evil against one another, and do not love perjury, because all those are things that I hate—declares the Lord.” (Zacharia 8:16-17).
When Judge Gerald Garson got arrested May 2003 Susan praised Garson: “Two years ago, Brooklyn State Supreme Court Justice Gerald Garson was hailed by several Jewish women’s groups for forcing an obstinate Orthodox husband to give a get, or religious divorce, to his young Sephardic wife. In a landmark decision, Garson invoked the 1983 New York State Get Law and ordered the husband to pay his 22-year-old wife of four months the sum of $500 a week in permanent maintenance because he refused to "remove a barrier to her remarriage" by denying her the get. "For the get issue, that was a great decision," said Susan Aranoff, director of Agunah International Inc., a women’s advocacy group.” Garson sanctioned me $5,000 on top of Rigler’s $10,000 + $10,000 sanctions. Susan now asks the court: “Impose sanctions on Mr. Aranoff that will deter any further repetitive and frivolous motions.” No. In the Bill Barr clown show with Jerry Nadler, the Democrats castigated Bill Barr. They hardly let him talk to defend himself. They did not address his points. Susan never lets me talk. Susan does not address my points.
