Fear pervades Americans’ lives—and American politics. Trump is a
master of fear, invoking it in concrete and abstract ways, summoning and
validating it. More than most politicians, he grasps and channels the
fear coursing through the electorate. And if Trump still stands a chance
to win in November, fear could be the key.
Right. Anti-Black racism started in 2016. Before that everyone was getting along.
ReplyDeleteThe refusal of liberals to learn from their mistakes is incredible.
ReplyDeleteIn 2016, the liberal response to someone saying he was thinking of voting for Trump was "That would make you stupid. Don't do it." Not "Well our platform is better" or "Here's good reasons to vote for us." Just "If you vote for Trump you're stupid." Meanwhile Trump split his time attacking Hillary and actually having a platform and he won. The liberal response? Must've been some kind of mistake. Oh, he lost the popular vote so he didn't really win. Wow, lots of stupid voters out there. How do we prevent them from voting next time?
And as the autumn of 2020 approached, liberals are once again campaigning with "Don't vote for Trump! You're an idiot if you vote for Trump!"
It's not about fear. It's about anger. It's about 50% of the population looking back and saying "You think we're stupid because we don't agree with you?"
