The visuals are magnificent, Shama is a proud Jew and a clever, interesting storyteller, so there is much to like in this series. I do object to his equating Elephantine to the Bais Hamikdash or the Dura Europos mosaics to the Mishneh...it's eccentric and unbalanced and has one purpose , to show Jews were always an open society mingling easily with their neighbors. Yes, no ,maybe...but the thesis needs more proof than a one sided telling of the Jewish story.
