Mayor Whaley ‘confused’ by Trump's tweet about how she described his visit to Dayton

President Donald Trump left Dayton saying Mayor Nan Whaley and Sen. Sherrod Brown “misrepresented” what happened when Trump visited with shooting survivors and first responders Wednesday at Miami Valley Hospital.
Trump tweeted at about 3:50 p.m.: “Just left Dayton, Ohio, where I met with the Victims & families, Law Enforcement, Medical Staff & First Responders. It was a warm & wonderful visit. Tremendous enthusiasm & even Love. Then I saw failed Presidential Candidate (0%) Sherrod Brown & Mayor Whaley totally …

“…misrepresenting what took place inside of the hospital. Their news conference after I left for El Paso was a fraud. It bore no resemblance to what took place with those incredible people that I was so lucky to meet and spend time with. They were all amazing,” Trump concluded.

A Times Headline About Trump Stoked Anger. A Top Editor Explains.

A print headline on Tuesday’s front page for an articleabout President Trump’s statement addressing last weekend’s mass shootings has added to a continuing debate over how news organizations cover his administration.
Times editors were concerned that the initial headline — “Trump Urges Unity vs. Racism” — did not contextualize Mr. Trump’s message on Monday and decided to change it for later editions to “Assailing Hate but Not Guns.”

With Absolutely No Evidence, Trump Suggests U.K. Spied on Him for Obama

Donald Trump has pushed out a baseless conspiracy theory that the British government spied on his 2016 campaign on behalf of President Obama's administration. In a tweet sent just one day after Queen Elizabeth II honored Trump and Melania with an invite to Buckingham Palace in June, the president quoted a pundit on the right-wing One America News Network accusing Britain of spying on him. Trump wrote: “‘Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson accuses United Kingdom Intelligence of helping Obama Administration Spy on the 2016 Trump Presidential Campaign.’ @OANN WOW! It is now just a question of time before the truth comes out, and when it does, it will be a beauty!” This baseless conspiracy theory was first brought to wider attention by Fox & Friends legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano in 2017 and repeated by then press secretary Sean Spicer. Even Fox News disavowed Napolitano’s theory two years ago, with

Released From Prison After Receiving a Life Sentence at 16

https://time.com/5646049/cyntoia-brown-released-from-prison/

Cyntoia Brown — who had been serving a life sentence for killing a man who brought her to his home for sex, when she was a 16-year-old trafficking victim — was released from prison in Tennessee on Wednesday morning.
Brown, who is now 31, was tried as an adult and convicted of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery in 2006 for killing 43-year-old Nashville real estate agent Johnny Allen, who had picked her up and driven her to his home after agreeing to pay her $150 for sex, according to court documents.
Brown — who had been sexually assaulted and forced into prostitution by a man known as “Cut Throat” — said she shot Allen because she thought he was reaching for a gun. During her trial, prosecutors disputed her claim of self defense, arguing Brown had intended to rob Allen.
Brown has spent the last 15 years — nearly half her life — in prison. Under her original sentence, she would not have been eligible for parole until 2055. But during the past few years — in the midst of the #MeToo movement and a broader push for criminal justice reform — Brown’s case drew national attention from advocates and celebrities, including Rihanna and Kim Kardashian West, who rallied for her release.

Incitement at Hebrew U mosque

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/267076

"We will not forget the Nakba" - this is just one slogan from a range of posters distributed in Muslim mosques and prayer houses, usually in Ramallah, Gaza and Bethlehem. But it turns out that the phenomenon has recently reached the corridors of Hebrew University’s Givat Ram campus in central Jerusalem.
The Hebrew University has a prayer house for Muslim students where there are prayers and Muslim religious activities. This week it became clear that the place is not only used for spiritual activities, but there is also active incitement against the State of Israel there.
A student of Middle Eastern Studies, an activist with the Zionist “Im Tirtzu” group, who came to the site to look at ancient books in Arabic was surprised to find posters hanging on the walls calling to remember the “Nakba,” calling the establishment of the State of Israel a "disaster" and a "holocaust," alongside "Palestinian" flags.
Assaf Corem, a student at the Hebrew University, told Basheva that many students feel uncomfortable over the fact that campuses make room for such expressions. "In general, every university student deserves proper religious services - we Jews have synagogues, and the Arabs have their own place," Corem points out.
"But unfortunately, as is the case in many mosques, especially in Israel - the mosque has become a political focal point, even a focal point of real incitement. Some elements have decided to place incitement flyers there against the State of Israel, despite the fact that the place is funded from the university budget, which is funded by taxpayers and the students. This is certainly saddening and outrageous.”

Emergency fundraiser and opportunity

My dear friend, the key is in your hands!

The Pittsburger Rebbe, shlita, established a network of educational and Torah institutions in Ashdod where generations of talmidim learn and grow in the path of Torah and Chassidus.

One of the brightest pearls in Pittsburgh's crown is the Yeshiva Ketana, which has an excellent reputation far and wide. Many bochrim knock on its doors, yearning to join its ranks. Over the years, the old yeshiva building became too small to accommodate the bochrim.

Over the past years, a grand new Yeshiva building - as is fitting for the sons of kings - the young bochrim who toil over their Torah studies - has been erected. During this time, the yeshiva was allocated temporary quarters. These were suddenly transferred to another institution which evicted our bochrim in order to perform renovations. The bochrim are finishing the summer zman in an auditorium ill suited to their needs, a situation which cannot continue any longer. In the coming month of Elul, the boys have nowhere to learn - until we complete the new building!

Thank G-d, the Yeshiva building is magnificent. The outer key is ready. The inside, however, is incomplete, preventing us from opening the doors to the bochrim. We must finish the inside of the building, and purchase the necessary furniture and equipment (see linked site). You can enable so much Torah learning and growth! We perforce initiated this emergency fund-raising campaign - today and tomorrow!

At the personal request of the Rebbe, who carries the yoke of the yeshiva on his shoulders, I undertook to help him finance the completion of the Yeshiva building. The Rebbe has granted his blessing to all participants in this campaign for continued siyata dishmaya in the future. Please help save the yeshiva while enabling me to fulfill my personal obligation!

Dear friend, the inner key to the yeshiva building is in your hands! Before you is a unique opportunity to purchase a permanent piece of the building, meriting a lifetime portion in all the Torah and Tefilla of the Yeshiva. This merit is eternal and remains forever to your zechus in the next world as well.

The merit of your contribution to this mini-Beis Hamikdosh is great during these days of mourning for the Beis Hamikdosh and praying for its being rebuilt.

Your generous contribution to this special fundraising campaign will permanently establish your partnership in the limmud haTorah and tefilla of the Yeshivah bochrim.

(All contributions to the Institute are recognized under section 46 of the Tax Ordinance. Tax recognized receipts are available for USA and UK as well.)

You may access the campaign online at https://www.charidy.com/pittsburg/5344111/

With best wishes for your continued siyata dishmaya in all your ways,

*************************

See attached flier for donation options.

For example: You may purchase 4 amos in the yeshiva with permanent zechus in all Torah and Tefila conducted in the building. An awesome merit in this world and in the next. For only 3,600 NIS in up to 36 payments. You will receive a decorative personal certificate of merit from the Rebbe Shlit”a.

The names of all donors of at least 100 NIS will be presented to the Rebbe Shlit”a for a special blessing.

HE POSED AS A RIGHTEOUS JEWISH CONVERT, THEN WROTE AN ANTISEMITIC CREED

https://www.jpost.com/Diaspora/He-posed-as-a-righteous-Jewish-convert-then-wrote-an-antisemitic-creed-597899

“Eisenmenger belonged to the class of insects which sucks poison even out of flowers,” the 19th-century Jewish historian Heinrich Graetz wrote.

Graetz was referring to Johann Andreas Eisenmenger, a young 17th-century scholar from Mannheim, Germany, who dedicated some 19 years of his life to mastering the Talmud and presenting himself to the Jewish community as a prospective “ger tzedek,” or righteous convert. He learned Hebrew, Aramaic and even Arabic during his intellectual journey, and read the whole Talmud roughly three times.

And then, in 1700, Eisenmenger published “Judaism Unmasked,” one of the most noxious and highly influential antisemitic works ever written.

Dead beat president owes $500k - how about a GoFundme for the greatest president since Obama

https://news.yahoo.com/trump-campaign-still-owes-el-paso-rally-152116905.html

With President Trump set to visit El Paso, Texas, in the wake of Saturday’s mass shooting, the city is re-upping its request for his campaign to pay the bill for the last time he was there.

Trump visited the border city in February for a campaign rally, and according to a Texas Tribune report the president’s campaign still owes over a half-million dollars for the rally.

“Our resources are really strained right now,” said Alexsandra Annello, a member of the El Paso City Council. “Our police and fire are exhausted, our health department had for three days straight been working with the reunification of families. As you see from the bill, these are the services required for a presidential visit. In addition to financial costs, our community and resources are already strained and do not need this extra burden.”

According to the city, Trump’s campaign owed $470,417.05 for police and public safety services related to the February rally, which was not an official presidential visit. The city sent the Trump campaign a letter in May prior to the deadline notifying it of the past-due invoice and in June added a one-time 21 percent late fee penalty, bringing the total bill to $569,204.63.

Police recommend Litzman stand trial for bribery, aiding alleged pedophile

https://www.timesofisrael.com/police-recommend-litzman-stand-trial-for-bribery-aiding-alleged-pedophiles/

Police recommended on Tuesday that Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman be indicted on charges of fraud and breach of trust for using his office to illicitly provide assistance to an alleged serial sex abuser, as well as on a separate bribery charge for helping to prevent the closure of a food business that his own ministry had deemed unsanitary.
The first case involves Malka Leifer, a former ultra-Orthodox girls’ school principal charged in Australia with 74 counts of child sex abuse. The police announced in February that they were investigating Litzman on suspicion that he had pressured employees in his office to alter the conclusions of psychiatric evaluations that had deemed Leifer fit for extradition.
