Witkoff and Kushner were instrumental in helping secure the ceasefire agreement that Trump announced Wednesday, nine days after Netanyahu’s visit to the White House. 

The pair, both New York-based investors, offered key concessions to Netanyahu regarding Gaza’s postwar future in order to win his support, according to several sources with knowledge of the talks. Those concessions included watering down language about Palestinian statehood that was included in previous peace plans put forth by Arab states earlier this year, these people said.
