The four myths Republicans have been spreading about oil and gas prices, explained.

there is an uneasy love-hate relationship with Russia - we love them because they can supply cheap oil and gas, and we hate them because of their invasions a nd scorn for human rights. Russia also has the same dilemma with the west - they need to sell us energy, because they need the money. On the other hand, they also need to weaken us and make counter-sanctions against western economies.
ReplyDeleteNew pipelines, eg from Israel or Egypt take a few years to contruct, the earliest would be 2025.
Oh, Biden insulted Saudi leader because of the Khashoggi assassination - so now MBS is refusing Biden's calls. This is the same Saudi who was betrayed by America (especially democrats) over the Iran deal.

ReplyDeleteBetween America and Canada there is enough oil and gas to be energy independent. The US and Canada can solve this problem but the ecofascists won't allow them to.
ReplyDeleteThe hypocrisy is incredible. As oil and gas use go us, the ecofascists insist on curtailing the local supply, thus enriching Saudi Arabia and Russia.
It's a loaded headline. America can't solve its problems with drilling but it can solve it's problems with opening the XL pipeline and restoring fracking.
ReplyDeleteNope!

If they published a piece that said apples don't fall from trees, as gravity is a myth, I'm sure you would believe it.
ReplyDeleteeach energy soruce has its own rpoblems too. Nuclear has radiation risks. Fracking causes underground damage, water pollution, and earthquakes. Oil not only has CO2 polution, but also means funding dictatorships.
ReplyDeleteIn the late 80s, oil was so low priced, eg $20 per barrel, it made no more sense for North Sea oil to be produced, as the cost was higher than the selling price. So oil fields were closed down. Of course a few years later, the prices went up again, and the cost to re-open those oil fields (offshore) were too high...
We had 2 years of covid, and now there is a war going on - it is nto all Biden's fault, but he is also not helping.
Sure, sure. Look, no one doubts that the price of gas was going to go up as consumption increased. That's the nature of the market. The question is: was it going to go up 10% or 100%? So that's the lie Forbes and other liberal media outlets are trying to obscure. Yes, inflation was going to rise as the recession ended but not nearly as much as it did because of overspending. Yes, gas was going to go up in price but not nearly as much as it did because of the Biden's idiotic policies.
ReplyDeleteyou know this How ? because that is what the Republicans claim

ReplyDeleteno but you would
ReplyDeleteWow
ReplyDeleteNo, because I'm Canadian. Which means I watched as Quebec banned the Energy East pipeline and then increased their imports from Saudi Arabia. And then Biden cancelled XL and increased his imports from Saudi Arabia and Russia.
