Firstly, they didn't invite rav Goren to give his side, so their decision was not proper procedure. 2nd, a judgement which ignores the source matter is meaningless. Did rav Chaim of volozhin read the Tanya before writing the nefesh hachaim? 3rd even if their view is valid, rav Goren did not sit with them, so according to the ritva, he's not obliged to accept their opinion.
This poster is actuallt about another incident - Mr Lorincz insulted Rav Goren, and was put in nidui by the Rabbanut.
They are suggestting here that the nidui has no validity since they don't recognize Rav Goren at all. Problem today is that the Auerbach family doesn't recognize the Ponovezh families, except, presumably the others in Ponovezh who also don't recognize Ponovezh.
