If Donald Trump refuses to give a concession speech, it will be one of the last norms that he breaks as President. Now that President-elect Joe Biden has won the 2020 election, Trump will need to decide what to do next.
The good thing is that it doesn't ultimately matter. A formal concession after an election is not embedded in our Constitution -- it is a norm. Historians tend to date the first public concession back to 1896, when Democrat William Jennings Bryan sent Republican William McKinley a telegram that said: "I hasten to extend my congratulations. We have submitted the issue to the American people and their will is law."
The question now is: will Trump humiliate himself by having the security guards toss him and his suitcase out the front door of The White House?

ReplyDeleteFor those who haven't got the memo: Covid and the subsequent economic deterioration spelled doom for Trump's re-election. However, the strong showing of Trump (the popular vote was close) and other Republicans (Senate will remain Republican and House had gain of Republican seats) spells doom for the Democrats unless they get their act together.

Trump out of power will continue to wield great power through his tweets. He can ally with Right wing media to solidify and grow his base. He can use his wealth and star power to fundraise for candidates.
It's unbelievable, but on some of the social media I follow many people are coalescing around the idea that Trump won the election. Shockingly, Gab -- a popular social media outlet -- is anticipating that Twitter and other Big Tech will pull the mic switch on Trump after the inauguration, and is preparing to become the social media of choice for the President and is prepping its millions of users to support a second Trump term if the President refuses to vacate the White House.
We are headed for civil war, and no one wants to say it. Ammunition costs are through the roof as people stock up. This transition -- or lack of -- is shaping up to be a messy affair.

According to the midrash, God spoke to Abraham at the Akeida about Rivka. Laban and Bethuel seemed to know this: “Here is Rebekah before you; take her and go, and let her be a wife to your master’s son, as the Lord has spoken כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְקֹוָק”
My theory. Laban and Bethuel did believe everything comes from God. Yet in the midrash Laban and Bethuel were wicked. How to explain? My theory, Laban and Bethuel had tricks up their sleeves they believed would thwart God’s plan. This is like the Progressive Left in the US they had tricks up their sleeves to get Biden elected. They know that Trump won if votes counted legally. They know that God is supporting Trump’s actions re Israel and against Iran and against terrorists. Trump is total opposite to 8 years Obama/Biden . The wicked Progressive Left, for inappropriate reasons, does fraud to get Biden to win.
Allow me my letter today to the NYS Court of Appeals:

I notice that NYS courts permit motions on behalf of the court, as happened to me to my detriment in the Appellate Division Second Dept. Perhaps the court will make a motion for stay QDRO/Sanctions on its behalf? Perhaps just to eliminate the embarrassment of $25,000 inappropriate fines of the late judges Rigler and Garson from two decades ago? Judge Michael A. Ambrosio was deeply involved in this case from the beginning and showed bias to Susan. He dismissed my documents proving Susan promised to join me in Israel. He once wrote to me that I should first pay the $25,000 sanctions/fines against me and then, maybe, he'll hear my application to stay the sanctions/fines. I have evidence proving Judge Michael A. Ambrosio showed bias in favor of Susan. This evidence should over turn the QDRO Judge Michael A. Ambrosio certified as legitimate and legal.
