Israel losing PR war

JPost

The war that Israel keeps losing is the war of world opinion, the war for individual hearts and minds. Consider recent stumbles.

Israel's military campaign in Gaza should have been named "8,000 is enough!" This would have communicated a determination to stop the barrage of missiles from Hamas, using surgical precision to destroy its arsenal, but destroying all of it, not just a part. Enough was enough: 8,000 missiles launched on the nation's civilian population would no longer be tolerated.

Unfortunately the operation was dubbed, "Cast Lead." The resulting image in the English-speaking world was not helpful. Lead is a soft metal associated with poison. The implication, then, was an unprofessional plan with ambivalent determination, biased motives and toxic methods.[...]

  1. Oh so what should they have called it, Operation Fuzzy Bunnies?

No matter what Israel does, it cannot win the PR war when the world's media won't let it.

One of the best examples is that of a Canadian newspaper that is well known for its anti-Israel stance. The day after the infamous Sbarro bombing, it ran the headline: ISRAEL STRIKES BACK! and in much small writing: after pizzeria bombed.

Had the BBC covered the Warsaw ghetto uprising, it would have condemned the Jews for excessive use of force.

  2. i once asked malcolm hoenlein (though i oppose him vehemently because of his (in)actions in the pollard matter) why does israel have such bad pr?

he answered very simply, other jews malign israel just as much, even more, than the pro israel pr.

Tough for Israel to compete when the mainstream US media is in bed and in cahooots with the Obamaniacs, as this report makes clear: ABC: Obama propaganda machine? Gibson anchoring from White House, devoting hours of coverage to health care agenda (WorldNetDaily, June 16, 2009).

HKB"H has his ways and now it is clearly Iran and its cruel rulers who are losing the "PR" war with all the images an reports of the suppression of democarcy and the killing of peaceful protestors such as the death of the young woman "Neda" (see a report and the graphic YouTube video lower down in it, of her violent and bloody death that has become the symbol of the fight by the Iranian people for freedom in this Haaretz report), and with all that, Barack Hussein Obama now takes a big hit to his carefully crafted PR image as he acts like a sissy and tries to straddle the fence at a time when a strong moral stand against the Mullahs is called for (but what can one expect from the guy who was "blessed" by Farakhan and thought that Rev. Wright's church was "not controversial")...and they cannot blame Israel or Jews in West Bank settlements for any of this.
