I got a report on the demonstration it ended with a physical attack on a demonstrator but the person who did it apologized and offered to pay for the sign he tore up. I heard this on the phone and was not there so I am just giving over what I heard from somebody who was also not there but got a telephone message. Maybe somebody who was there would know exactly what happened.
Ari B apparently you are a philly talmud and very worried. I don't blame you. I know people will think twice before marrying a Bochur that learned in philly.
What a Kiddush Hashem! BH the crowd behaved and it was the Kamenetsky bullies who tangled with the law by attacking the protesters and ripping up their signs.
So what are we to take from the fact that no one showed up at the protest? There were 3 people there yudel shain, I think it was the mashgiach from the Chinese restaurant store and some other person.
Hey Rainer dont try to change the fights. If there were only 3 ppl there why were the cops called. Why did Dovy Kamenetzky get physical? Why did shalom leave through backdoor? I hope he got the message he is no longer welcome in Lakewood of he ever was.
Interesting you say that. i question your ability to count. i drove by after i heard on the radio the call to the police. there were 2 police cars and like 15-20 demonstrators. Rainer, where did they teach you counting skills?
Not only that I not live in Philadelphia, The owner of this blog can confirm that I am quite an opponent of theirs on all these issues. And an outspoken one at that. I have tangled directly with them on a previous case. But I am opposed to their opposition making fools out of themselves by doing things that just strengthen their position by looking weak, immature, and stupid .
Perhaps we should embrace reform and conservative Judaism? Messianic Judaism? Where do you draw the line? Perhaps a complete disregard for Torah and abuse of power call for a strong and outspoken response. But a responsible and mature one.
Yudel is also saying Dovy Kamenetzky got physical. Dovy would presumably be the namesake of Rav Ber Hirsch Heller, father in law of R Yaacov, and mashgiach in Slobodka alongside the Alter. What a way to honor the name of his great-great-grandfather!
Accepting 2 daios? That's right. When all of Klal Yisroel will realize that the other dai'ah is treif and the KLAL cannot marry (or intermarry) any of those children nor their descendants until the end of time, then will move on to the next subject.
As far as this site being saturated with Tamar is concerned, I might argue that since we are at a situation where RASHA katamar yifrach.......this we are saturated discussing it on how to counteract it.....
Aside from the aspect of imypna d'yoma that I mentioned that this reminds me of, I believe that we may likely also be zocheh pretty much to what Pinchas was zocheh when he killed Zimri z even though he was a nosi in Klal Yisroel! ....therefore hineni noisen lo es brisi-Sholom! WE take over. ....
It is the message that counts, not the messenger. Echad hamarbe ve'echad hamamit... The fact remains that Lakewood vesiyato took a stand, sent the shliach BD to post it HIGH making it behedye and crystal clear. Ripping it up, only calls for malkus arboim.
Why was this not videoed and live-streamed onto the internet? I certainly hope that they will be prepared for the next protest, which will probably not be long in coming...
Because otherwise no one would have known that there was a protest so Yudel has the cops called they come all the machers hear it on the radio and they come running so you end up with 15 people. It was a none event and if all you have is Shain as your biggest protester i think you need some soul searching that maybe your on the wrong side of the fence.
I didn't know that the average "pashkevil" reader was a יושב על מדין.
ReplyDeleteDid people show up?

ReplyDeleteHow many protesters were there? How many bullies did Kamentsky have with him?
ReplyDeleteThis is nj o laughing matter. However, if anyone is getting laughed at his last name is Kaminetsky.
ReplyDeleteThe protests from BD keep on coming. At the rate it's going, shortly the RY will be the last one leaving and closing the lights.
ReplyDeleteWhen oh when will the frum oleim accept two daios & move forward already.
ReplyDeleteThis site & others are saturated with Tamar...it is getting to be a bore!!
did these protesters ask a posek whether they should go there?

ReplyDeleteReb Josef, did the shul ask a posek if ShalomK should be allowed to speak? That's the shiala.

We're not bored. We're bothered.

ReplyDeleteThis post was relying on faulty info. There was a physical attack by a karate expert (Dovy Kamenetsky son of Sholom) with no apology!!!
ReplyDeleteHey, be it 3 people or 15, it mamish inyona d'yoma of rabbim b'yad m'atim - another wellspring of inspiration!

ReplyDeleteYou sure it's karate? I heard it's Jew-jitsu. Or maybe Jew-do.
ReplyDeleteEither way, he can find employment with Mendel Epstein.
Ah, now I think it was Jew-don't. ......

ReplyDeleteFine. Out of respect for you, I'll accept your loshon hara;-)
