This is how you make Judaism relevant? Didn't the Rebbe used to repeat something like that you bring the people closer to Torah, raise them up, rather than lowering the Torah down to the level of the people?
Making Lubavitcher shluchim like a circus side show, or freak show doesn't seem to fit the bill.
Also, the guy claims that the video has been an internet sensation. Well, the youtube stats I saw weren't too impressive. 1548 views is no sensation.
Is anything allowed for publicity? I don't think the Rebbe would agree.
Are Chabad Yeshivas now going to add break dancing to their curriculum. What next, doo wap! It's gonna get dangerous if they even get one of the flying Walendas to be migayer.
So what to you hold? My first instinct in really just embarrassment for them more than anything else.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this very much.It was upbeat and added variety.I don't mitigate in any way the important things but this was very nice.
ReplyDeleteIs this a joke or what?

Okay, I see there is another video too, with some more views - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDn0qjjB-80
ReplyDeleteBut 4571 views is not a great internet sensation in my book.
