The editor of Ami Magazine acknowledged today that the front page of this week’s issue depicting the White House draped in Nazi flags with Nazi storm troopers marching in front “may have been a poor choice.”

Yeah, ya think?
ReplyDeleteThey have exhibited POOR JUDGEMENT on several occasions. A weekly feature write uses fantasy and personal recollections to substantiate a "Biography of a Gadol in Williamsburg".
ReplyDeleteAmi editors would do everyone a service by joining the Yated or another Torah Weekly.
They are obviously desperate to unseat Obama from the White House (as if having an unknown commodity a self-professed proud Mormon like Romney would be better), but it won't work with this kind of heavy-handed disgusting photo-shopping stupidity, just like yelling "Nazis" in self-righteous indignation at the Israeli police will not solve the problems of the Charedim in Israel!
ReplyDeleteAgudath Israel of America's PR mouthpiece is the Editor at Large of Ami. How can Agudah walk into the Washington offices after such a disgrace?? It's their man who works at the magazine.
ReplyDeleteAgudath Israel's board ought to give him the choice, Agudah or Ami.
Everyone needs to calm down. I actually bought the Ami yesterday to see what the fuss is all about. It turns out the picture is connected to the weekly article by John Loftus. Loftus is an Irish Catolic who happens to be an oheiv yirael, and in this weeks edition he bemoans the fact that American Jews have been blind to antisemitism in America in the past and they contine to do so now. I would not be surprised in the least if the picture was his idea. I'm not saying that it was a smart descion (or not) to publish it, but this was not exactly a bunch of Jews wearing yellow stars to protest a parking ticket.
