Terrible that Reform and cons and reconstruction are intermarrying. Halachically, only half of the offspring are Jewish because approximately half of them are women who marry out. But the men don't matter anyway. They could only have married the ones who married out. So they are simply being substituted by the non Jewish spouses. Thats how matrilineal lineage works.
If being jewish is just an ethnic label and the Italian guy can marry a Philipina girl then why can't Hershel marry Chantelle the shiksa from Marseilles?

That makes it worse because now you have all these people out there who are halakhic Jews and yet have no clue they are.
