If there’s one figure who epitomized President Donald Trump’s ability to cobble together a winning coalition in 2024, it might have been Joe Rogan — the influential podcaster who made big news by endorsing Trump on the eve of the election after interviewing him.
Sixteen months later, Rogan epitomizes Trump’s problems in holding that coalition together.
Rogan has broken with Trump on several major issues since mid-2025. And polling shows the issues he’s picked happen to be some of Trump’s biggest political liabilities – including the war with Iran, the Jeffrey Epstein files and immigration enforcement.
(1) Iran has sent out encrypted messages by radio. Some have interpreted this as possibly messages being sent to so-called sleeper cells around the world.
ReplyDelete(2) The FBI sends out a report that Iran had a plan to use pre-positioned drones to attack the U.S. mainland.
(3) Iran is actively attacking non-military ships in the Strait of Hormuz and is mining the Strait of Hormuz.
(4) Iran's highest priority has been to build a nuclear bomb. Iran damaged it's economy along the way to pursuing this goal. Iran refused to drop this goal even as its military faced elimination if it did not drop this goal.
And President Donald Trump was supposed to wait till this sleeper-cell infiltrating drone pre-positioning nuclear bomb building nuisance to peaceful maritime traffic Iran was an "imminent" threat before attacking?!
Liberals don't understand. They demand ideological purity. In the liberal camp, there is only disagreement on how liberal to be. The only criticism is that you're not liberal enough.
ReplyDeleteConservatives don't demand such conformity. They are free to argue and hold different positions. If Rogan and Trump were liberals, Rogan would be silent. He wouldn't want to be labelled as a dissenter. Conservatives prefer freedom of thought and opinion and that's what you're seeing.
