There's no Daas Torah anymore. The ones who invented it and used it for a couple of generations have left us. The hareidi leadership of today is not of the same calibre to claim Daas Torah.
That's why I always put a (tm) in. Bottom line is that for centuries, authorities have been writing about how we don't have any real talmidei chachamim left. There is no actual authority invested in leaders today except for what the community offers them. And yet we are told no boys can go to the army because they're talmidei chachamim and that we have to listen to Daas Torah(tm) because it's authoritative. Hmmmmm....
The blog calls itself Daas Torah. Daas Torah in Israel just got a boy hit and killed by a bus. Maybe instead of Trump we should be discussing that.

Delete"Daas Torah" is just code for The Gedolim(tm)
