He'll struggle with Ukraine because the ultimate solution sucks.
ReplyDeleteIf NATO fully arms Ukraine and helps them push Russia back to its borders, that will start WW3 officially. Talk all you want about how Ukraine deserves territorial integrity. Obtained that starts WW3 officially. So it's not an option.
A deal will have to be reached in which Ukraine cedes Donetzk to Russia but in return can station NATO troops on its new eastern border. That way Russia can claim victory and NATO acts as an official deterent to any further attempts.
